All memebre being present, <br />minutes of previous meeting'wereread and approved. <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT:- REaUIS IRIONS PRESENTED :&; APPROVED. <br />Numbers 1103 -1104 -1105 were approved. <br />Motion prevailed that fireman Lieut. Louis Lederer be premoted to <br />Captain same to take effect July 1925. 15th. <br />ELELCTRICAL DEPARTMENT :- <br />REOUSITIONS PRESENTE) & APPROVED. <br />Numbers 557 -to 563 'inclusive were approved. <br />Supt. Qualls presented iveeekljz report for theweek ending July 9th. <br />WEIGHTS & MEASURE DEPAR TRIN T : - <br />Reed I. Hawthorne, presented monthly report for the month of <br />June and weekly report for the week ending July 10th. 1925. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT:- <br />REQUISTT,IONS PRESENTED & APPROVED. <br />Numbers 2182 to 2198 inclusive were approved.. <br />Officer J. C. Myers, appeared before the board to explain the <br />accident he had on the night of •inly dth. at the corner of Division <br />and:So. iiiioh Strs. dames done to the Police Motorcycle were very <br />small the officer being exenorated and caution about fast driving. <br />The Board. went into session as a trial body to hear the following <br />charges which were prefered against officer Forrest D. Clark, charges <br />as follows:- <br />July 7th. 1925. <br />To the Board of Public Safety, <br />of the City of South Send.. <br />I, the undersigned, heiarby prefer the following; charges against <br />pattrolman Forrest D.Clarkm a member of the Police Department of <br />said City. I charge that on the6th. day of July 1925, the said named <br />officer committed an assault upon me without just.cause or provocation <br />I futhur allege that at said time, III was not committing any breach <br />of peace and that I was in a place where I had a legal right to be. <br />(Signed. Thersa Myers, 912 S. EaFayette St. <br />Clayton Byron, 921 S. LaFayette 'St. <br />The following witnesses were duly examined : - Officer Oral Hamilton, <br />Forrest D. Clark and T. 11yers. <br />The Board them went into session to consider testimony of the witnesses <br />after a public hearing and submission of testimony the board went <br />into session for the purpose of considering the testi000y heard the- <br />B6ard found officer Forrest Clark guilty as charges and he was <br />reprimanded and warhed not to appear befmve the Board again on <br />similar charge: Due to the fact that officer 0lark having admitted <br />that he had kicked Myers, he was not given a fine.,on account of splendid <br />M7CTIE re4 'l d to• adjourn:- (record and faithful service. <br />ATTE ST:* �• PRE'S IDENT OF THE BOARD. <br />1 OF HE SOAR . <br />S1 <br />
