ELECTRICEL DEPARTMENT:- BILLS PRESENTED AND ALLOWED.
Voucheres numbered 1799 to 1800. 1853 to 1846 inclusive allowed.

POLICE DEPARTMENT : - REQUISITIONS PRESENTED A APPROVED.
Numbers 1873 to 1887 inclusive were �IpproveESENTED AND ALLOWED.
Vouchers numbered 1795 to 1798; 1802 to 1822. 1849 to 1850 Allowed.
Motion prevailed thatvthe applicationd of Elmer V. Alward,
Geo. S. Dorman and John W. Starkweather, for positions in the police
department be accepted and placed on file.
Motionnprevailed that the bonds of officers Wm. H. Ortma.n, and
Claude Keller,'of One Thousand Dollars each ($1,000.00) and the
National Surety Co., as surety were approved.
The Board went into cession as a trial bodyto hearf the following
charges which were refered against officer Chas.'A. Dunning. by
Chief Lane.
1. That the said officer has foe more than two years neglected
his duty as a patrolman in that he has reapeatedly failed to pull

his box without giving and valid reason 29th. 1922;
this neglect being as follows:- Feb.
May 20th. 1922; July 11 1922• Aug. 26, 1922; Sept. 21,1922; Nov. 3,th.
1922 Nov. 25, 1922; Nov. 29, 1922; Dec. 1, 1922 Dec. 9, 1922 ;Jan 13,
5 1923• Dec. 27, 1923; Jan 1,1924; Jan 18,
]923; Apr�1 2, 1923; Dec. ,
1924; Jana 22, 1924; Jan 29th, 1924; Dec. 2,1924; I futhur Barge
that on several oecassions said officer failed to pull his box on time,
and failed to give a satisfactory excuse therefor.
2. That the-said officer has on various occasions, within the
past year, the exact dates I am unable to give, been found asleep
while on duty.
Z. That during the summer of 1924. said officer was detailed to
dutybunder the direction of the Board of Park Commissioners of the
City of South Bend, and was required by his said duty to visit all.the
parks and patrol the same each day; that he neglected to visit some
of the said parks for days at a time, and on various occasions was
found asleep while on duty. Chief of Police.

Atty. Geo. Donahue, pepresenated Mr. Dunning.
The Board then went into executive cession to consider evidence
submitted, after a pmblic hearing and submissions of all evidence,
the Board went into executive cession for the purpose of considering
all evidence submitted, after dw.e and carefull consideration the
Board found the said officer Chas. A. Dunning, guilty' as charged
and thereupon. he was dismissed from the Police fords of the City of
South Bend, Ind. (DeiesioAon was anounced at the next regular meeting.)
after some more investiggtions had been made.
