The following men appeared before the Board and were questioned regarding their application for a position in the Fire Department Urban K. Kroger, and Theo. ffloltman, and Motion prevailed that Theo. The 'Board went into session as a trial Body to hear the = following charges which were prefered against officer Casmier Dombrowski, by Chief Lane._ _ 1. Charge that said ,Casmier Dombrowski, while on duty as a patrolman on the 24th. day.of February 1923. in said city of South Bendy Ind.' was intoxicated. 2. That'the said Casmier Dombrowski, on the said 24th. day - _ of February, ,1923, while on duty .as .such patrolman, left his beat without ,permission_ and without - lawful excuse. 3. That the said Casmier Dombrowski, while acting as such partolman on said 24th. day of February 1923. was between the hours of 1:00 A. M. and 5:00 A. Y. intoxicated while on duty. The following.witnesses were duly examined : - Serg't. .Ben. - H.-Roberts, Captain James E. Schock, Serg't. Neils Hanson, Sergi. Chas. H. keller, Casmier luzny, Oral Hamilton, A. D. Bates, Joseph Hecklinski, and Edw. Smith. The defendants witness were as follows:-Henry I.T. Boettcher, 0. H.
