Minutes of rrevious meeting were read and arproved. Bills were -oresented and allowed. Mr. Taylor a-npeared before Bn�,r& relative to removing -moles used for fire boxes in Harter Heights addition, stating that same were unsightly and th►t they desired that wires be placed -underground. Mr. Taylor was instructed in detail. by the Board -Is to how to secure the underground work in said -ddition. Officer Mathew J. Burnz-k was called before the Bo-rd to -nswer to charges filed against him by Chief of Police. Peter Kline for reporting for duty in -n intoxic-ted condition. Officer Burc7nk denied charges. Following witnesses were examined by the Board--- Officers Michq.el- R7:ernka, Niels Hansen, A. G. Essex, AA^m RoTanski and Chief Kline. After ronqidering evidence the Board found the Officer guilty of charges preferred -against him and he wq.,g renrimanded by the Board for his actions. Motion prevailed that trial be set for Friday, July 22.1921 on charges filed against Officer E. L. Baxter by F. M. Forsyth, 514 E. Monroe St, for conduct and ctions un- becoming an officer. Rnqers for ap'nointment as s firemen was presented and placed on file, also petitions of Homer R. White and Byron H. Jones. Re-uipition 1151 for repairs and supplies presented and. approved. Surt, Benining presented report of work done by his &Apartment during week ending July POth, 1921, Surt. BeaninR presented following reouisitions which were approved; -- 252 hardware supplies, 253- salaries for the last half of July, 1921, 254- one outer casing and two inner tubes both 30x3�-. The Board went into session as a trial body to hear chp.rges preferred against Officer E. L. Baxter by Mr. F. M. Forsyth. Attorney W. G. Crnbill appeared on behalf of Officer E. L. Baxter and Judge Gilmer n.ppeared for Mr. F. M. Forsyth. The following witnesses were sworn and examined, being called by Judge Gilmer on behalf of Mr. Forsyth to substantiate charges filed;-- F. M. Forsyth, Ernest Bpok-man, Wm. H. Don hue, D. D. Kemper, Fred 6luss, D. W. HP=-n, Aline Snntt, Minnie Borden, Miss. Cleda Goshert, Mrs. Schultz, Jacob Bell. Mrs. Ross Me Kee, William Schultz and Roy Mn 4. The following witnesses were sworn and- examined, being called by Attorney Crabill in behalf of Officer Baxter:-- A. B. Miles. George Penrose, Grover Dqil-y, George Williams. Vivian Holycross, J. Landis, Frank Kuespert, Sergt. Emil Luther, Officer A. G. Essex, Sergt. B. H. Roberts, Ed Stoll, George Connell and Ernest Hoover. After hearing the evidence the Beard went into executive session and after considering same, Motion p i1vailed. that Officer Bavter be found guilty of charges and be smissed.
