Dear Council Members:
This ordinance, appropriating $120,000.00 from the Coveleski Improvement Fund, is
being submitted to the Common Council for consideration and approval.
The improvements outlined in this ordinance are part of an ongoing process to
maintain Coveleski Stadium as a premier facility for minor league baseball. They are
also in accordance with the objectives outlined in the current Stadium Use,,
]Ylanag~ n and Oneration~A rg cement. This appropriation is being made from
funds generated from stadium revenues. Some proposed 1997 improvements will also
generate additional revenues.
Improvements proposed for 1997 include the following:
a. Purchase of a field roller -this would replace the current roller, which is twenty
two years old. We can no longer find parts for this piece of equipment.
b. Upgrading of air conditioning/heating units -this would complete the upgrade of
the air handling units begun in 1996.
c. Purchase of a new sound system -this would replace the existing system and
would provide better quality sound throughout the stadium.
d. Picnic garden expansion -larger groups will be able to utilize the area, thus
generating additional revenue. Better lighting of the area is included in this design.
f. Interior/exterior painting and carpeting.

We feel these improvements will continue the tradition of keeping Coveleski Stadium a clean,
fun, family oriented entertainment option. Should there be any questions regarding this
appropriation, please feel free to call me or Dick Nussbaum.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Sincerely, ~-
