SPECIAL MEETING
OCTOBER 11, 1978
A special meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at
11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 1978 by President Patrick
McMahon, with Mr. McMahon and Mr. Mullen present and Mr. Brunner
absent. Deputy City Attorney Terry A. Crone was also present.
BID AWARD RESCINDED - ADVERTISING APPROVED FOR CETA TELEPHONE SYSTEM
Elroy Kelzenberg, Director of the Bureau of Employment and
Training, submitted to the Board a letter indicated that, because
of certain erroneous assumptions made with respect to the
recommendation to award the CETA Telephone System bid to Indiana
Bell Telephone Company, he would like to request that the Board
rescind acceptance of that bid and authorize re- advertising for
bids, according to revised specifications. Upon motion made by
Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Board rescinded
the bid award made to Indiana Bell Telephone Company and directed
the Clerk to advertise for bids to be received on October 23, 1978.
Mr. Kelzenberg noted that no costs have been incurred in connection
with the Board's acceptance of the previous bid.
There being no further business to come before the special meeting,
upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried,
the meeting adjourned at 11:35 a.m.
