SPECIAL MEETING
DECEMBER 26. 1979
A special meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened
at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 26, 1979 by President
Patrick M. McMahon, with Mr. McMahon, Mr, Brunner and Mr. Mullen
present. Deputy City Attorney Terry A. Crone and Chief Deputy
Controller Michael L. Vance were in attendance, as was City Attorney
Designate Richard Hill,
Mr. McMahon announced that the only order of business was to
consider a recommendation on the City insurance proposals. Mr.
Mullen reported that the Board received proposals on December 3
and those proposals have been reviewed with Corporate Policyholders
Counsel, Inc. It has been determined that the City will do its' own
claim work and a Risk Manager will be hired with responsibility
for the safety of employees. Mr. Mullen said, based on that
review and the recommendation of Corporate Policyholder's Counsel,
it is recommended that the coverage be split and the proposals
accepted as follows: .

Mr. McMahon made a motion to accept the recommendation to split
the insurance coverage and award the coverage as described
to the New Hampshire Insurance Company through the Jerry J. Miller
Agency and the Hartford Insurance Company through Bruner- Cassady-
Neeser Agency. Mr. Brunner seconded the motion and it carried.
There being no further business to come before the Board, upon
motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried,
the meeting adjourned at 3:10 p.m.
