Chief Dutrieux requests permission to send his 5 man Pistol team to attend the Flamingo
Open Pistol Championship to be held in Miama, Florida on the 10th, 11th -, 12th, 13th,
14th, and 15th days of March, 1957. Permission granted.
The Board heveby approves the appointment of the following applicants to the Fire De-
partment of the City of South Bend, Indiana:
Donald Lukasiewicz
James Rybak
The abovenamed having passed all necessary examinations and also having passed physical
examinations by both the City Doctor and Pension Doctor, their appointment to the Fire
Department of the City of South Bend, Indiana shall become effective on the 4th day of
Eebruary, 1957.
There being no further business to come before the Board the meetin as adjourned
at 10 :45 A.M. (CST).

A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, February 11, 1957
at 10 :00 A.M. (CST). All members werr present. Minutes of the previous regular meet-
ing were read and approved. Claims in the total amount of $3980.19 were approved and

Fire Chief Andrzjewski appeared before the Board and requested permission to attend a
conference in Memphis, Tennessee on the 18th, 19th, 20, 21st, 22nd, and 23rd days of
February, 1957. Permission granted.
Nicholas Horvath, Superintendent of the Electrical Department, recommends the light
