FIRE DEPARTMENT Mr. Morrow of the Kiwanis Club requests permission to use a Fire Department truck for their annual newspaper drive on Saturday, September 15, 1956. Permission granted. Irene Dennig of the Registration Department requests permission to use the following Fire Stations for registration on October 41 59 69 and 8: Station 3 (old) and 3 (new), 49 51 61 79 99 10, 112 12, 13. Permission granted. Applications for the Fire Department were accepted and placed on file for Richard William Sipocz. ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT 1 A petition was submitted to the Board f.or :the improvement -;of North.;Sheridan Street in the 200 block North by the construction of street lights. Also a petition for the improve - ment of Walton Avenue by the construction of street lights. Both petitions are hereby re- ferred to the Electrical Department. POLICE DEPARTMENT Applications for the Police Auxiliary School Patrol were examined and placed on file for Gertrude Margaret Anderson and Gerda Martha Myers. There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 10 :30 A.M. FIRE DEPARTMENT Fire Chief Alex requests permission to send the following men to Purdue State Fire School on the 11, 12, 13, and 14 days of September, 1956: Captains Gish, Hoffman, and Carlson; Chiefs Alex, Doran, Regard, and Ledderer; Lieutenants Copeland and Filchak; and Joseph Daly. Permission granted. There being no further business to come before the Board, the me ing was adjourned at 10:20 A.M. (DST). r z September 20, 1956 A special meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Thursday, September20, at 10:30 A.M. All members of the Board were present. At this special meeting of -the Board of Public Safety, Nicholas Horvath is hereby appointed to succeed Ira Hunsberger to the position of Superintendent of the Electrical )epartment. This appointment to be effective September 16, 1956. Ben Medow, Inc. requested permission to use large search lights at the curb in front of their building at 222 North Lafayette Street on the 19, 20, and 21st of September, 1956. Permission granted.
