A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, July 21
1956 at 10 ;00 A.M. (DST). All members were present. Minutes of the previous regular

POLICE DEPARTMENT
The request of Captain Russell L. Hunt that he be demoted to the rank of De-
tective Sergeant and the recommendation of the Chief of Police that Detective Sergeant
James K. Trevey be promoted to the rank of Captain in charge of Civil Defense Program,
effective as of July 11 1956 was accepted and approved by the Board.
Special Police Officer bonds were approved for George N. Beamer, Jr. and James
A. Nevins, and Ernest Carson.
Police applications were examined and placed on file for Donald Jules Biesbrouck,
Robert Edwin Jankowski, and Richard Lee VanAtta.
The bid of the village council of Edwardsburg, Michigan for the purchase from
the Police Department of 2 2 -way police radios was accepted and the bid referred to
the Police Department.
There being no further business to come before the Board, t was ad-
journed at 10:25 A.M. (DST).
