Smith was absent. Salary claims in the total amount of $91,643.04 were approved. Company 4.65 Fire Chief Andrzeiewski appeared before the Board with reference to request permission for himself and Assistant Chief Doran to attend the Firemen's Conven- tion which will be held on the 19th, 20th, and 21st days of June, 1956. Permission granted. Applications for the Fire Department were examined and placed on file for Ben Max Frankiewicz. ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT Ira Hunsberger, Superintendent of the Electrical Department, recommends that the light at York Road and Woodside Street be reconnected and also that a 4000 lumen light be installed at the point where Hartzer Street meets Bonds Avenue. The Board now approves Mr. Hunsberger's recommendation. Ira Hunsberger also recommends that a 4000 lumen light be installed midway between Ironwood Drive and Tuxddo Drive on Wilson Street. Board approves Mr. Huns - berger's recommendation. POLICE DEPARTMENT Police Chief Dutrieux appeared before the Board with reference to request permission to send Officer Richard Badics to DeVRY Technical Institute, 4141 Belmont Avenue, Chicago 419 Illinois.
