A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held
Monday, January 30, 1956 at 10;00 A.M. (CST). All members were present.
Minutes of the previous regular meeting were read and approved. Claims

FIRE DEPARTMENT
Fire Chief, Alex Andrzejewski appeared before the Board
with reference to request permission to attend 2 meetings out of the
City on the 7th and 10th days of February. Request granted.
POLICE DEPARTMENT
Chief Dutrieux appeared before the Board with reference to
request permission from the Board to hold their annual Police Show on the
23rd, 24th, and 25th of July, 1956. Permission granted.
Captain Hazinski appeared before the Board with reference
to Revolving flasher (sparkler).lights. Submitted evidence of those places
still having such lights in operation. Board advised Captain Hazinski to
give notice of the ordinance to all places with such lights in operation.
The Contract of the Portage Township with reference to the
use of fire service for the township was submitted to the Board. Contract
approved.
The time now being 11:00 , it was so announced and the bids
for the Fire Department were opened:

Chief Dutrieux appeared before the Board with reference to request
permission for a five man pistol team to attend the 'Flamingo Open Pistol
Championship" to be held from March 11 to March 16, 1956. Request granted.
TMENT
A request from Ira Hunsberger, Superintendent of the Electrical'.De-
partment, that a 4000 lumen light be installed at the following intersec-
tions: Helman Drive & Manchester Drive; Boynton Drive & Manchester Drive;
Crosby Avenue & Eisenhower Drive; Crosby Avenue & Benedict Avenue; Bene-
dict Avenue & Rockne Drive; Edison Road & Pyle Avenue. Also, a 6000 lumen
light at Oxford Lane & Manchester Drive. Moved and adopted by the Board.
A request from Ira Hunsberger, Superintendent of the Electrical De-
partment, that the two lights at the Harrison School playground on Western
Avenue be relocated and seven(7) additional be installed, all 6000:'. lumen.
Moved and adopted by the Board.
WEIGHTS & MEASURES
A report from Bert S. Chicowicz, City Sealer, was submitted to the
Board with reference to his findings on his weights & measures inspection
for the month of January, 1956. Accepted and filed.
