HomeMy WebLinkAbout11/21/1955 Board of Public Safety Minutes;2-Lo and 1126, in accord with petition, dated, October 31, 1955, was approved by the Board. Petitions, dated November 8th and 14th, calling for improved lighting on Lakewood Drive and Ironwood Drive respectively, were next examined and referred to Supt. Hunsberger for investigation and report. There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 11:30 A. M. Andrzejewski, John C. Haynes, and Robert W. Pasternak were examined and ordered placed on file. The Police Departmentis need for twelve 38- caliber Special Police Revolvers was next considered by the Board. An advantageous +price being available at this time, the'Clerk was.directed to proceed with the purchase in accord with Requisition No. 1483. FIRE DEPARTMENT: I 1 11 The Fire Department application of Sam S. Scanlan was examined and ordered placed on file. Fire Chief, R. J. Duck, being present, recommended to the Board the romotion of Lieutenant Rudolph Pinter to;the rank of Captain and Fireman oseph Zurat to the rank of Lieutenant. The Board complied with the Fire Chiefts recommendation and these omotions were so ordered, to become effective December 1, 1955- ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT: A letter from the Indiana & Michigan Electric Company, under date of November 18th, in the matter of street lighting on Olive Street, between Western Avenue and the New York Central Railroad, addressed to City ngineer, R. S. Andrysiak, was then read, discussed and referred to uperintendant Ira Hunsberger, together with Indiana & Michigan Electric ompanyts drawing No. T -3 -1919, for investigation and report. The recommendation of Superintendent Hunsberger for the installation f a 4000 lumen light on the south side of street, between 522 and 526 est Colfax Avenue, was approved by the Board. There being no further business to come before the Board, the eting was adjourned at 11 :50 A. M. ,t test : Clerk.
