SPECIAL MEETING
SEPTEMBER 15, 1955
A - Special Meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held at
10:00A. M., Thursday, September 15, 1955• Mr. J. A. Bickel was
absent.
The Board considered the urgent need for eight new four-door
sedans for the Police Department, and the fact seven trade -ins are
available to effect_a substantial allowance in the transaction.
The Board authorized the Clerk`tQ advertise for bids to provide -the
required equipment.

A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held Monday,
September 19, 1955, at 10 :00.A. M. All members were present. Minutes
of the previous regular meeting and also special meeting were read and
approved. Salary claims, in the total amount of 83,1 .0.43, were
approved. Claims of the following suppliers, in the total amount of
$5P393.24$ were approved and ordered paid:

Fire Chief, R. J. Duck, being present, placed. before the Board' three
quotations for the exterior painting of Fire Station No 8. _The Modern
.Decorating Company-having submitted substantially the lowest of the three
bids, was awarded the contract, and the Clerk was directed to issue formal
purchase order to confirm.
Fireman Charles Kallil then appeared before the Board requesting a
one year leave of absence from the department, due to the health of his
son who must be removed to a different climate. Upon the recommendation
of Fire Chief Duck, leave was so granted, to become effective.Saturday,
October 1, 1955•
Fire Department Injury Reports for the months of June,.July, and
August, were examined and ordered filed.
Fire Department Reports of runs made outside the city limits, for the
months of June, Julys and August were examined and ordered filed.
POLICE DEPARTMENT:
"Police Department application of Walter F. Lantz was examined and ordered
filed. Police Auxiliary School Patrol of Mary Ellen 2eiger was
examined and ordered placed on file.
The Police Department Monthly Report for August 1955 was examined and
ordered filed.
