GENERAL FIRE TRUCK CO.
2272 EAST JEFFERSON AVENUE
DETROIT, MICHIGAN.
This bid was found to have an improper and defective
non- collusion affidavit and was, thereupon, rejected
without reading or consideration, and certified checks
for $894.50 and "$800.00 which accompanied the bid
were returned.
The bids were taken under advisement for tabulation and further study
and the Board advised those present that announcement of successful
bidder would be made at a later date.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting
was adjourned at 11:55 A.M.

First appeared before the Board, Chief of Police, R. J. Gillen, and
resented a request for",RL two weeks leave of absence for Officer Norman
sarey to attend annual field training for the 764th Amphibious Tank
attalion, in which organization Officer Esarey holds the rank of Master
ergeant. The Board approved and granted the required leave.
The attention of the Chief was called to a repeated parking violation
hick, due to an apparent oversight on the part of the area Traffic Officer,
s causing unfavorable comment.

Fire Chief, R. J. Duck, being present, placed with the Board the
Tritten acceptance by the Firement s- Pension Fund, effective as of August
5, 1955 of the following :

ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT -:
A petition, bearing date of August 8, 1955, for the installation of
street light on Edison Road, between Brummit Lane and Helmen Drive, was
referred to Supt. Ira. Hunsberger for investigation and report.
A petition, bearing date of August 15, 1955, for improved light.ing'in
the 1100 block East Altgeld Street was examined and referred to Supt.
Hunsberger for investigation and report.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the
meeting was adjourned at 11 :15 A. M.

The Board discussed the suggested changing of the location of the
posting of the Auxiliary Police woman on Mishawaka Avenue, at Oakland
Street, to Emerson Avenue. The matter was referred by the Board to the
Police Department Traffic Division for their - decision.
Chief of Police, R. J. Gillen, being present, placed before the
Board the required form for the appointment of Howard Charles Leippert,
employee of the American District Telegraph Company to be a special
Police officer in and for the City of
