A petition, dated July 11, 1955, bearing more than twenty signatures,
for the installation of a street light at the intersection of N. Wellington
Street and W. Colfax Avenue, was examined and referred to Superintendent
Ira Hunsberger for investigation and report.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this meeting
the Board, thereupon adjourned at 11:30 A. M.

A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held Monday,
July 25, 1955, at 10 :00 A. M. All members were present. Minutes of the
previous meeting were read and approved. Salary claims, in the total
amount of $81,758.60, were approved. Claims of the follovlkin&,suppliers,

ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT:
Supt. Ira Hunsberger first appeared before the Board and took up with
the Board various matters pertaining to his department.
The failure of city- employee Stanley Piasecki to report back for
duty July 13, as scheduled, and his absence on the 14th, 15th, and 21st,
as well was reported by the superintendent. The Board approved deduction
from salary check for the four days of Piaseckits absence, in accord with
Supt. Hunsbergerts recommendation.
Petitions, dated June 1, June 27th, and July 20th, respectively, for
street lighting, were examined and referred to Supt Hunsberger for
investigation and report, for the following locations:
Kenmore Street from Keller Street to Bulla Street
North Reyer Street from Elwood Avenue to Keller Street
Intersection of E. Colfax Avenue and Ellsworth Place.
PJIr. Hunsbergerts recommendation for the installation of a 4000 lumen
light at each of the following locations, was approved by the Board:
Alley intersection on the south side of Vlestmoor,
at the edge of Bend--x Park

lights approved continued -
200 ft. north of Western Avenue on Dundee Street
Southwest corner of Wellington Street and Colfax Avenue.
POLICE DEPARM7ENT:
Upon the recommendation of Chief of Police, R. J. 'Gillen, the
Board appointed James N. Mlosher (employee of The Torrington Co.) as
a special police officer.
The Police Department application of Roy G. Rhymer, was examined
and ordered filed.
The application of Suzan M. Hughes for the Police Auxiliary
School Patrol was examined and ordered placed on file.
The Police Departmentis Report for the month of June, was
examined and ordered filed._.
FIRE DEPARTTVMNT:
Fire Chief, R. J. Duck, being present, discussed with the
Board matters pertaining to the department.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the
meeting was adjourned at 11:40 A. m.
