Gillen, requesting approval for the emergency purchase of a supply of automotive parts in the total sum of $225.659 The Board approved the purchase and authorized the release of Purchase Order No. B177825 confirming. The Police Department application of Dale K. Richmond was examined d ordered placed on file. RE DEPARTMENT: Fire Chief, R. J. Duck, being present, made the following recommendations;, o fill vacancies in the department. f 1. Battalion Chief Russell Hoffman be promoted to Assistant Chief. 2. Lieutenant'Clem Marosz be promoted to Captain. 3. Lieutenant Alex Niespodziany- be demoted to Private. 4- Fireman Raymond Arendt be promoted to Lieutenant. 5. Fireman Richard Busfield be promoted to Lieutenant. The Board accepted Chief Duckts recommendations to become effective sday -, June 1, 1955- �TRICAL DEPARTMENT,: The recommendation of Supt. Ira J-. Hunsberger, for the installation f a 4000 lumen light at the southwest corner of the alley intersection in he 1200 block of Bissell Street was approved by the Board. Petitions for the, installation of' street lights at the following ocations were referred to Supt. Hunsberger for investigation and recommen- ation: On Peashway °Street beteveen Notre Dame Ave. and St. Louis Blvd. On Peashway, between Hill and Lawrence'Streets. In each of the 1400, 1500 and 1600 blocks of Re-yer Street. On Gertrude Street, between Prairie and Ewing Avenues. Alley intersection between Walnut and Chestnut Streets. Alley intersection between Jefferson and Napier Streets. There being no further 'business to come before the Board, the meeting ras adjourned at 11 :20 A. M. airman attest:
