The recommendation of Supt. Ira Hunsberger for the changing of the
4006 lumen light on Rush Street, south of Monroe Street, from underground
to overhead system, was approved by the Board.
Supt. Hunsbergerts recommendation for the changing of the 2500 lumen
light at the intersection of Edgewater and Monroe Street, from underground
to overhead system, was approved by the Board.
A petition, dated May 2, 1955, calling for a change in street lighting
at 1316 W. Dunham Street, was examined and referred to Supt. Hunsberger
for investigation and report.
A petition, dated May 2, 1955, calling for improved street lighting
and the installation of a dead -end street marker, at the intersection of
Dubail and Webster Street was examined by the Board and referred to
Supt. Hunsberger for investigation and report.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the
meeting was adjourned at 11 :45 A. M.

10 :00 A. M. All members were present. Minutes of the previous meeting

PQLICE DEPARTMENT:
The Pdlice Department application of Goldie Lee Ivory was examined and
ered placed on file.
FIRE DEPARTMENT:
The Board read and discussed Section 20, 21 and-22 of the Firemen's
Pension Fund by -laws, as outlined in the letter of the President, Richard
J. Duck, under date of April 29, 1955• Fire Chief, R. J. Duck, being
present, took an active part in the discussion and in the particular
problem under consideration, decision was reached that a "rider" is to be
attached to the Fire Department application form, giving the applicant
due notice that a deposit must be made with the examining physician, of
a specified amount sufficient to cover total cost of the examination,
at time of reporting for such examination in compliance with instructions .
received from the Firements Pension Fund.
Fire Department applications of Norbert A. Celichowski and Stanley
E. Herman were examined and ordered placed on file.
WEIGHTS & MEASURES:
The report of the Inspector of Weights and Measures for the month of
April 1955, was examined and ordered filed. It was-noted that City Sealer,
Bert S. Cichowicz was elected on April 23, 1955 Executive Director of
the Weights and Measures Inspector's Association of Indiana.
There being no further business to come before the Board,the meeting
adjourned at 11 :05 A. M.
