POLICE DEPARTMENT:
First appeared'bef'ore -the Board,
Chief of Police ' R. J. Gillen,
bringing attention to his
departmentts need for six new four-door
sedans. Funds having been appropriated for this purpose, and
six
trade-ins being available, the Board granted approval and directed the
Clerk to proceed with the
required legal advertising.
The Police Auxiliary School Patrol application of Elsie M.
Fenters
was examined and ordered placed on file.
ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT:
Supt. Ira Hunsbergerts

recommendation for the installation
of a

Petitions for improved lighting at the railroad crossings on Florence
Street and on Sibley Avenue, were referred to supt. Ira Hunsberger for
investigation .anal recommendation.
The Board then reviewed bids received and opened at the previous
regular meeting, for wire and other supplies and equipment requiredlby,
the Electrical Department. In accord with the recommendation of Sup'."t-,
Hunsberger, contract was awarded The Gamewell Company for the required
fire alarm boxes, and the Graybar Electric Company was awarded contract
to provide the remainder of the department's needed supplies, in exact
accord with their bid, dated February 25, 1955.
WEIGHTS & MEASURES:
The February Report of Bert Cichowicz, Inspector of Weights and
Measures, was examined and ordered filed.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the
meeting was adjourned at 11:45 A. M.

FIRE DEPARTMENT:',
Fire Chief, Richard J. Duck, being present, brought to the Board's
ttention his department's need for a new triple combination pumper of
of less than 1,000 g.p.m. rated capacity. The Board directed the Clerk
o proceed with the required advertising.
OLICE DEPARTMENT:
Chief of Police, Richard J. Gillen, being present, recommended to the
oard, the demotion of John S. Weinzetl from the rank of sergeant to that
f patrolman.
Chief Gillen further recommended that Patrolman John R. Niezgodski be
omoted to the rank of sergeant.
