A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held Monday,
December 6, 1954, at 10:00 A. M.
All members were present. Minutes
of
the previous meeting were read and approved. Salary claims in the
total

IRE DEPARTMENT:
Fire Chief, Richard J. Duck, being present, brought to the Boardts
ttention the urgency for the immediate advertising for bids in connection
ith the consth. action of No. 15 Fire Station to be located in the 2100
lock of Prairie Avenue, at the intersection of Prairie and west Ewing
venue. The Clerk was directed to proceed accordingly.
The Fire Departmentts need for twenty -three black fleece lined coats
d two officers coats, and one dozen wagon coats was next considered,
e purchase of this clothing approved, and the Clerk directed to proceed
the matter.
The Fire Departmentts need for forty -nine pairs of boots was approved
the Board and the Clerk was directed to proceed with the purchase.
The Fire Departmentts need for four dozen helmets was approved by the

An Injuries Report, covering'October 31st to November 12th inclusive,
s exanined and ordered filed.

ELECTRICAL DMPARTYENTs
Supt. Ira Hunsbergerts recommendation for the installation of a
4000 lumen light at each of the following locations was approved by the
Board:
Southeast corner of.alley intersection in front
of 822 Blaine Avenue
Northwest corner Victoria and Marine Streets
Southwest corner of alley on Victoria immediately
east of Miami Street
POLICE DEPARTMENT:
Chief of Police, R. J. Gillen, being present, brought to the
attention of the Board two automobile accidents occurring in November,
in'which the damage incurred should be assumed by the City.. Complete
data concerning these accidents was, thereupon, placed in the hands of
City Attorney, I. A. Hurwich.
Chief Gillen then informed the Board in regard to an accumulation .
of unclaimed stolen bicycles, and requested permission to make the usual
disposition of turning these over to the Children's Aid Society; and
Morea.n Seminary at this time. The Board granted permission for such
disposition.

ordered placed on file.
There being no further business to come before.the Board, the meeting
adjourned at 11 :45 A. M.'
