All members were present. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Gillen, being present, the Board took up the matter of the proposed form to be required in every instance where medical service is to be rendered by the City Physician. Considerable discussion ensued. In the matter of whose signature should appear on this medical order, it was the decision of the Board that order is to be signed by the responsible head of the department at the time illness is reported. ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT: Superintendent, Ira Hunsberger, being present, brought to the atten- tion of the Board, his departmentts need for 1000 ft. of a special type of cable. The Board approved the - purchasing of the needed material and authorized the Clerk to proceed accordingly. Superintendent Hunsbergerts recommendation to install a 4000 lumen light on Coquillard Drive, between Colfax and McKinley Avenue, was approved by the Board. Councilman Walter Glass then appeared, petitioning verbally for improved lighting at the alley intersections between Wall and Hastings Streets, on 33rd, 32nd and 31st Streets, stating that because of the contour of this area, present lighting of the street corners is ineffective. The Board informed Councilman Glass, the matter would be referred promptly to Superintendent Ira Hunsberger for investigation and recommendation. A petition, bearing more than fifty signatures, under date of Nov.9th, 1954, requesting improved lighting on East Victoria Street, from Miami to Leer Street, was examined and referred to Supt. Ira Hunsberger for inves- tigation and report. A Petition, dated November 6, 1954, calling for the installation of a streetlight on Howard Street, between Talbot and Jacob Streets, was examined and referred to Superintendent Ira Hunsberger for investigation and report. 1 =132 A petition, dated November 12, 1954, the alley dividing the 800 and 900 block and referred to Superintendent Hunsberger dation.
