A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held Monday,
August 2, 1954 at 10:00 A. M. All members were present. Minutes of the
previous meeting were read and approved. Claims of the following suppliers,
in the total amount of $3027.66, were approved and ordered paid:

'IRE DEPARTMENT:
Fire Chief, Richard J. Duck, being present, turned over to the Board
or their examination and consideration Police Report of accident, involving
Fire Department car driven by Lt. E. D. Smith, and the car of Mrs. Charles
organ, Jr., driv °e n by her daughter, together with reports submitted by
t. Smith and Mrs. Morgan, and estimates of repair also submitted by Mrs.
organ. The Board took the matter under advisement.
Fire Chief Duck next submitted to the Board three quotations for the
roofing of Fire Station No. 4. The Board examined the quotations and
arded reroofing work to La -Rite Roofing & Insulating Co., Inc., 1606
shawaka Avenue, for the sum of $863.00.
The Fire Department application of Elmer E. Boocher was: examined and
ferred to the City Personnel Director.
The opening of bids was the next order of business, the time being
1 :00 otclock D.S.T. Two bids were received to supply the Fire Department
ith a pick -up truck, and were found to be, as follows:.
