Minutes -of the previous meeting were read `a.nd.approved. Ziegler, P.M. 10.00 FIRE DEPARTMENT: Fire Chief, Richard J. Duck, was present for the discussion of matters pertaining to his department. - The report of Captain Al Andrzejewski, dated July 10, 1954, covering run made to German Township by Engine Go. No. 11 that date, was examined and ordered filed. ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT: Superintendent Ira Hunsberger was present and recommended the installation of 4000 lumen lighting at each of the following locations: Southwest corner Southwest corner Northwest corner Northwest corner Northeast corner Northeast corner Northwest corner MacArthur Avenue and Chimes Boulevard Solomon Avenue and Chimes Boulevard Rockne Drive and Chimes Boulevard Ford Street and Floral Place Clearview Place and Floral Place Ford Street and Semple Street Donald Street and Oliver Street These installations were approved and ordered by the Board. A request for 6000 lumen lighting in replacement of 4000 lumen lights was approved by the Board for the two intersections of Sample and Grant Streets, and Sample and Jackson Streets. The Board also approved an increase to a 4000 lumen light, from the present 1000 lumen light located in the 1500 block West Dunham Street. A petition to improve the street lighting on N. Notre Dame Avenue midway between South Bend Avenue and Corby Street was examined and referred to Superintendent Hunsberger for investigation and report. A petition,bearing forty -seven signatures, requesting installation of a street light midway in the 1200 block of West Colfax Avenue, was referred to Superintendent Hunsberger for investigation and report.
