A regular meeting of the
Board of
Public Safety was held, Tuesday,
July 6, 1954, at 10 :00 A. M.
All members were present. Minutes of
the
previous meeting were read and approved. Salary claims in the total
amount
of 980,866.24, were approved.

FIRE DEPARTMENT:
Fireman Robert Schultz appeared before the Board and reported his
financial affairs as now being in order, mentioning specifically ftthe
gas company" and "the tire dealer ". The Board cautioned the Fireman to
keep his creditors sttisf ied and directed that he make a further report
to the Board in thirty days in this connection.
ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT:
The recommendation of Superintendent Ira Hunsberger concerning the
proposed underground conduit construction work on South Michigan. Street,
as indicated in drawing, submitted with Superintendent Hunsbergerts
letter of July 2, 1954, was next considered by the Board. The Board
approved and recommended that a permit be issued Indiana Bell Telephone
Company to proceed with their proposed construction.
A petition, dated June 28, 1954, to improve street lighting on
on Chimes Boulevard, from Rocknne Drive to MacArthur Avenue, was examined
and referred to Superintendent Ira Hunsberger for investigation and
report.
A petition, dated, July 3, 1954, for a. street light at the intersection
of Columbia and Paris Streets, was examined and referred to Superintendent
Hunsberger for inspection and report.
There being no further busines to come before the Board, the meeting
was adjourned at 11:50 A. M.
