or nt of Joseph E. Hecklinski, an employee of Carson Secret Service,

Fire Chief, Richard J. Duck, being present, informed the Board of the
specific machine selected by Assistant Chief Brown to be
purchased
of the Fire Department for the removal of roots and obstructionfromor use

Police Chief, Richard J..Gillen, being present, recommended the appoint-

Fire Chief, Richard J. Duck, being present, informed the Board of the
specific machine selected by Assistant Chief Brown to be
purchased
of the Fire Department for the removal of roots and obstructionfromor use

sewers and stating that consultation with Messrs. Turnock and Tomlinson
resulted in the finding of no objection to the intended use of this equip-
ment. It was the opinion of the Board, however, that used machines of
this type are available, at a considerable reduction in cost, which
would prove entirely satisfactory and perform with the efficiency of
new equipment. The Chief was directed to investigate this possibility
and report upon his findings.
The Chief i s request for a transfer of funds to make possible the
purchase of a new pick -up truck needed at this time, was approved by
the Board. This request in the form of an ordinance will be placed
with the Common Council at their regular meeting this date.
The Fire Department applications of Richard E. Benninghoff and Le
Roy Wayne Collins were examined and ordered filed.
ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT:
Superintendent Ira Hunsberger's recommendation for the installation
of a 4000 lumen light at the northeast corner of Dubail and Carlisle
Street, and at the northwest corner of Dundee and.Jefferson, was approved
by the Board.
The Police Departments monthly report for April 1954 was examined
and ordered filed.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the
meeting was adjourned at 11 :30 A. M.
