A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held Monday,
April 19, 1954, at 10 :00 A. M. All members were present. Minutes of the
previous meeting were read and approved. Salary claims in the amount of
$81,769.22 were approved. Claims of the following suppliers, in the
total amount of $3534.49, were approved and ordered paid:

A petition, dated April 3, 1954, to improve the intersection of
Tuxedo Drive and Colfax Avenue, by the installation of a street light, was
,.referred to Ira Hunsberger, Superintendent of the Electrical Department,
for investigation and report.
A petition, dated April 15, 1954, for the installation of a street
light in the al -ley at the rear of 528 Blaine Avenue, was referred to
Superintendent Hunsberger for investigation and report.
FIRE DEPARTMENT:
Fire Chief, Richard J. Duck, was present and placed with the Board
complete report of accident which occurred at Lincolnway East and Twyckenham
Drive, involving Fire Department Engine No. 21 on April 18th. Report
was examined and ordered filed.
Fire Department applications of the following applicants were examined
and ordered placed on file:
Willie J. Benman John Lawrence Gaska
Donald Noel Gray,Jr. George Medich
Vernon H. Ringler Frank S. Strzelecki
Fire Department Injury Reports for the months of February and March
were examined and ordered filed.
Captaints and Lieutenant's Daily Reports covering runs into outlying
area made by Engine Cos. Nos. 11, 12 and 22, during the period from
March 26th to April 4th inclusive, were examined and ordered filed.
POLICE DEPARTMENT:
Chief of Police, Richard J. Gillen, was present and brought to the
Board's attention, the Police Department's need for a transmitter and
receiver set, now obtainable at an advantageous price. Funds being
available for this equipment, the Board, thereupon authorized the purchase
and approved the release of the pending purchase order No. BW4367.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the
eting adjourned at 11 :35 A. M.
