Fire Chief, Richard J. Duck, being present, brought to the attention
of the Board, his department's need of four doors, and the necessary hardware
and trim, to close off the dormitories in Fire Station No. 14 and eliminate
the over - heating of these sleeping quarters, which condition presently
exists. A quotation of $261.46 for the needed materials was deemed reason-
able and satisfactory and the Clerk was authorized by the Board, to pro-
ceed with the purchase.

The Board approved the recommendation of Superintendent Ira Hunsberger,
for the installation of a 4000 lumen light at each of the following locations.

The following petitions for improved lighting were referred to
uperintendent Ira Hunsberger for investigation and report:
Street light at the corner of Iowa Street and West Jefferson
Street light to light the alley, from Spruce to Walnut(dead end)
Street light at the corner of Kenmore and West Colfax Avenue
Street light in the vicinity of West Jefferson
OLICE DEPARTMENT:
The department's urgent need for four (4) sirens and two (2) spotlites
o replace wornout- equipment of this type was explained to the Board by
aptain M. J. Voelkel. The Board approved the purchase of the specified
quipment and authorized the Clerk to release Purchase Order BW3379
ccordingly.
Captain Voelkel also brought to the attention of the Board, the
olice Department's urgent need for certain types of ammunition to cost
n'excess of $400.00, and stating that funds available for such purchase
ust come from other than General Supplies. In view of the existing
mergency, the Board authorized the Clerk to proceed with the purchase,
n6 umbering funds from Appropriation P- 334 to pay for this supply of
mmunition.
The Police Department application of Stanley A. Bizczynski was
xamined and ordered placed on file.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the
eeing was adjourned at 11 :05 A. M.
