The Board accepted the bids of Harley - Davidson Sales and Scherman-
Schaus Freeman, Inc.., taken under advisement in.previ_ous regular meeting.
Police Department Report for the month of February 1953 was examined
and ordered filed.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the
meeting was adjourned at 11:10 A. M.

SPECIAL MEETING
April 2, 1953
A Special Ueeting of the Board of Public Safety was called at
2;00 P. M. Thursday, April 2, 1953 for the purpose of appointing.
Police Department applicants'to fill existing vacancies. I. A. Hurwich
was absent.
Chief of Police 'Richard J. Gillen presented to the Board the
applications; together with investigative and medical reports on the
applicants under consideration. All papers were found to be in order,
and the Chief was commended on the apparent high type and qualifications
of the applicants,'all of whom are men of military experience.
The Board, thereupon, approved for appointment to the Police Depart-
ment, subject to the usual probationary period, effective Monday, April
6s 1953s the following applicants:
Vernon C: Dull
Charles R. Kuskye
Wayne E. Marshall
Harold K. McMichael
John (NMI) Pastor
Martin J. Storm
There being no other business
meeting was adjourned at 2:30 P.M.
