Agenda: Bill No. 10-41 -Tax Abatement (Real) 901-910 N. St. Peter (727 E. Corby Street)
Chairperson Rouse began review of Bill No. 10-41 by allowing Bob Mathia of the Economic
Development Department to make a presentation of findings. Bob reported the petition for
residential abatement was for two homes on adjacent lots at 901 and 909 N. St. Peter Street.
The homes built by Snyder Custom Homes are valued at an average of $525,000 each. Mathia
reported the homes were not in a residential TIF area and did meet all criteria for abatement.
Upon concluding, Rouse opened the hearing for questions. Councilmember Puzzello asked if
these were spec homes. Bernie Feeney representing the petitioner said the homes were pre-
sold. Council President Dieter asked if Notre Dame's restrictions on size, type, restrictions to
certain builders made any requirement for minority builder inclusion. Mr. Feeney said he did not
know the ND policies. Chairperson Rouse noted a motion by Councilmember White and a
second by Councilmember Puzzello that the bill be sent to Council favorably. All affirmed.
There being no further business to come before the Committee, Chairperson Rouse adjourned
the meeting at 5:50 p.m.
Respectfully Submitted,
