It is necessary.to screen the plastic bags from the leaf materials and to dispose separately of the plastic bags. The cost of this plastic bag screening and disposal process in 2007 is $120,000.00. This ordinance appropriates the funds for this cost from Leaf Collection and Removal Fund #655 for the separation and disposal process. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, as follows: Section I. The sum of $120,000.00 shall be set aside within and appropriated from Leaf Collection and Removal Fund #655 for the cost of screening plastic bags from collected leaves and disposing of those bags. Section III.
