As originally filed on August 19, 2009, Ordinance #9959-09 contained a detailed Attachment identifying each employee position within the City and setting out the 2010 salary for such position. On September 28, 2009 a substitute version of Ordinance #9959-09 (then Bill #64-09) was filed with this Council indicating that the original Attachment required amendment solely to add a new position, that of Director -Energy conservation, at an annual salary of $68,016.00. However, the new Attachment also listed four other positions twice, and deleted four long standing positions. This Ordinance reinstates the original Attachment to Ordinance #9959-09 along with inclusion of the position of Director -Energy Conservation. By this Ordinance, the following four positions are included in the 2010 non-bargaining employee salary ordinance per the original intent and but for technical error and omission contained in the second Attachment: Full-Time Position Job Title 2010 Salary ENB-A-2 Director-Administrative Services $55,864.00 ENB-A-2 Director-Administrative Services-Parks $55,864.00 ENB-A-1 Director-Central Services $67,011.00 ENB-A-1 Director-Code Enforcement $67,867.00 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND as follows: Secton I. Ordinance #9959-09 is amended to correct the substitute Attachment to that ordinance ~,rhich inadvertently omitted four longstanding employee positions within the City. The amended Attachment to Ordinance #9959-09 is made a part of and incorporated within this ordinance, and is effectively a reinstatement of the originally filed Attachment to Ordinance #9959-09 plus inclusion of the position of "Director -Energy Conservation" which was not part of the original Attachment. Section II. Z[ENTARA CONTROLLER September 28, 2009 Mr. Derek Dieter President, South Bend Common Council 4`~' Floor, County-City Building South Bend, 1N 46601 Re: Revised Attachment to Bi1164-09 Ordinance Fixing Salaries and Wages of Appointed Officers and Non-Bargaining Employees of South Bend for 2010 Dear President Dieter: Enclosed is a revised detail sheet (Attachment to Ordinance) for the 2010 Salary Ordinance setting the maximum salaries of all appointed officers and non-bargaining employees of the City of South Bend. The amendment to the Salary Ordinance reflected in the revised Attaclunent consists in the addition of a new position: Director -Energy Conservation. The 2010 salary for this position is $68,016.00. This new position does not affect in any way the 2010 General Fund budget because the position will be funded entirely from an Energy Efficiency & Conservation Block Grant for calendar years 2010 and 2011. Thereafter, from 2012 forward, the position will be funded by the energy consumption savings aclueved from the work and programs of the Director of Energy Conservation. The addition to the detail sheet appears at page 2, and the position has been highlighted for your ease of review. I will present the amended version of the 2010 Salary Ordinance to the Council at its Committee meeting and at the public hearing scheduled for this evening. Thank you for your consideration.
