The Board of Public Safety met in a Special Meeting at 8:18 a.m. on Monday, May 3, 2010, with
Board Members Patrick Cottrell, Bruce BonDurant and Eddie Miller present. Board President
Juanita Demsey and Board Member Laura Vasquez were absent. Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar
was also present.
The meeting was held in the Board of Public Works Meeting Room, 13`h Floor County City
Building, South Bend, Indiana.
Addition to the Agenda
Mr. Cottrell noted the addition of a donation to the Police Department to the agenda.
POLICE DEPARTMENT
APPROVE FINDINGS OF FACT — CHARGE 2010 -01 — NICHOLAS MCKINLEY
In a previous Board of Public Safety meeting of April 28, 2010, the Board found that for his actions,
Patrolman Nicholas McKinley shall be suspended without pay for thirty (30) consecutive calendar
days without pay. Upon a motion by Mr. BonDurant, seconded by Mr. Miller and carried, the
Findings of Fact were approved and signed.
ACCEPT AND FILE DONATION TO SOUTH BEND POLICE DEPARTMENT
In a letter to the Board, Chief Boykins, Police Department, advised the Board of a generous donation
made to the South Bend Police Department Youth Tennis Program. The donation of three hundred,
seventy -five dollars ($375.00) was given by the United States Tennis Association. There being no
further discussion, the donation was accepted and filed.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Board, Mr. Cottrell declared the meeting
adjourned at 8:20 a.m.
