At the April 23~d meeting of the Redevelopment Commission, the Commission approved a
proposal from Danch, Harner & Associates to provide a variety of planning and design
services related to planned improvements within and adjacent to the Oliver Industrial Park
on Chapin Street. One element that was left out of the scope of work was design services
for entry park signage.
The attached proposal from Danch, Harner & Associates is to provide design services for
park entry signage to the Oliver Industrial Park. With the recent opening of Underground
Pipe & Value located towards the rear of the park, there is no tenant signage that identifies
their new location. This scope of this proposal would design main and tenant signage for
the park entrance at Chapin.
The proposal for the project is projected to be $3,480.00 with cost for Bidding & Negotiation
(Task 3) and Construction Inspection (Task 4) to be expensed at a time & materials
amount. Staff would propose approval of Tasks 1-4 with aNot-To-Exceed amount of
$6,000.00.
Staff requests Commission approval of this proposal.

Re: Proposal for Professional Design Services:
a) Entry signage for the Oliver industrial Park
Dear Mr. Schalliol,
Danch Harner & Associates is pleased to submit this proposal for professional services
for your consideration. It is our understanding that this project will include designing the
main entry signage for the Oliver Industrial Park. The signage will be of the
monumental type, placed symmetrically on the both sides of the entry drive with
individual business information being incorporated on one side. The sign design will
include features that relate to the Oliver Boiler House. This work will coincide with the
Oliver Trail and Chilled Plow Memorial Project.
Task 1: Preliminary Concepts:
a) This task will include providing two preliminary concepts and probable cost
estimates to the City for review and comment. The designs will be based off of
input from Ann Kolata and the City Signage Standard.
Cost for this task would be $600
Task 3: Construction Documents:
a) After review and approval from City staff, Danch Harner will provide bid ready, final
construction drawings that will include existing conditions, layout plan, grading
plans, utility coordination plans, landscape plans, details, specifications, and final
construction cost estimates.
Cost for this task would be $2,880

Task 4: Bidding:

a) Bidding: Danch Harner will provide bidding and negotiating services at a time and
material basis.
Task 5: Construction Inspection:
a) Construction inspection: If required, construction inspection services will be
provided at a time and material basis and will consist of monitoring day to day
construction methods and practices to insure proper installation of the trail,
amenities, landscape, and any other project components. Weekly progress
reports will be sent to the City and Contractor for review and action. A final punch
list would be developed and issued to the City and Contractor before issuing
substantial completion.
