663 Hoard met in regular session st.9:00 A.M. All members present. - Mayor Seabirt and Philip Bandurant apppiiser present. Bids were received opened and read for the paving of Cherry Street from Jefferson St. to.intersection of New York Central.RailRoad Co. . Bids were submitted by Homan & RoachtWilliston Constr. Co. H. W, Reed & Sons. Constr. Co, The Albert Constr. Co. H. N. Barnes, W. J. Ness Co. Rieth-Riley Constr. Co. All bids were referred to the City Engineer for tabulation to be reported on Wednesday May 27th., 1925 at,-7:15 P.M, ( See files for copies of original bids.) Atty. John Yeagley with Mrs. Isabelle Miller, Mrs. White and Mr. White appeared and discussed written remonstrance filed under date of April 4th. 1925 against amount of damages allowed -on the property taken for the proposed Opening of William St.' After discussing remonstrance not agreement signed. Atty. John•Yeagley with Mr. Paxton and Howard Hayden owners of property %ken for the opening of proposed William Street appeared in re to remonstrance filed under date of April 14th., 1925 against the. amount, of damages allowed. After discussing remonstrance noagreement signed. - Fred W. Keller with Wm. Qualls Supt-of Lights appeared and took up m%tter.of placing Boulevard lights in Sunnymede•Addition. This matter deferred until a later date. Petitions were filed as follows: - Property owners on Cherry Street between Jefferson Street to the New York Central R. R. Soi requesting preliminary order for type of pavement to bemtaade with Brick with asphalt filler. Same filed. Sewer on Morris Street from Prairie Avenue to Ewing Avenue. Resolution ordered. Sidewalk and curb an Fremont Street from Bulla Street to Keller St. Resolution ordered. Waiver approved waiving advertising, and hearing. City Attorney to be requested to serve notice on parties obstructing Sample Street between Lafayette Street and the South Bend City Addition where said Sample Street, was widened, to vacate the same. The petition filed heretofore for thegrading of -,North College Street from Elwood Avenue to.Keller Street with ni curb, and by levelling to proper grade,. 25 feet from sidewalk edge to include tiling across street, from west property ' line to at lowest poitnt referred to the City -Engineer for 1AYel;tlge►t!.V,. Price submitted for screens at Police and Fire Alarm station at 312 D. Wayne Street using copper wire cloth -two costs of paint for the sum of $26.5D submitted by the Indiana Lbr. . Co. approved and -ordered. Engineer submitted estimated costs which were approved by the Board. Grading of alley north of North Shore Drive from Iroquois Street to Lafayette Street at.,......$128.00 Grade, curb and walk on Fremont Street from Elwood Avenue to -Bella Street at ..... $29780.00 Supt of Lights reports as follows on petition for lights. Light unessential at Catalpa Avenue and Cherry Street. Recommend that property owners at 1400 to 2000 block on South Scott Street trim their trees. Petition denied. Recommer_d the installation of a 1000 lumen incandescent lamp about the center of the Court at the alley intersection of Marion Ct. and the first alley west of Lafayette St. between Marion Street and Navarre Street. Petition refused cannot grant alley lights.
