Board met in special session at 9:p0 A.M. L. P.. Hardy Ahsebt.
This being the date set for hearing various remonstrances filed
against the amount of benefits and damages on OPening of Street known as William St.
Atty. Sobnmers appeared with Lorenz Lederer and amount of damages on
properly owned by LedereT discussed but no agreement signed.
Attyb. A. E. MaVtin and Avty Bibberd appeared with client a property
owner on proposed William Street and discussed remonstrance but no agreement signed.
J. S. McCowan anti Mrs. McCowan appeared and discussed remonstrance
but no agreement signed .
Atty. G. A. Elliott, with Mrs. Helene Lamport', Iden S. Romig.,
representing Mrs. Florence Miller, Atty Bertsch representing Mrs. Mary Meyer,
signed the following form of agreement.
Before the Board of Pudic Works of the City of South Bend, Ind.
In the matter of Condemnation Resolution No. 83 for the Opening
of a street from Colfax Avenue sond La Salle Avenue and Lincoln
Way West and from Marion Street to Navarre Street known -.as William
Street.
Toe undersigned, having heretofore filed remonstrance against
assessments 6 benefits against the property as shown by said assessment roll hereby
agrees that if there is a reduction of 30 per cent, made in said assessment by- the Board
of Public Works, that they will withdraw their remonstrance against said assessments
and will pay said reduced assessment. _
That if said reduction is not made by said Board, said remonstrance
will not be affected in any way by this agreement'. ( See files for copies of agreements
filed by above mentioned parties.

Board met in special session at 1:30 P.M. L. P. Hardy absent,
Mayor Seebirt and J. F. Anderson Engineer, Appraisers Ed Neddo, Philip E. Bondurant
and. Frank J. Anderson present.
Attys. Woodson Carlisle, Samuel Parker A. G. Graham appeared in
regard to remonstsanees filed for clients and Woodson Carlisle signed a 30per cent
reduction in maris Studebaker8s assessment of benefits. Richard Elbel signed a 30 per
cent reduction and the error in calantation to be corrected, and the benefits assessed
to be $550,00 instead of $650,00 A. G. Graham and Smsuel Parker and Woodson Carlisle
agreed to discuss this 30 per cent reduction in assessments of benefits with Clients
and return agreements if signed.

of the City,of South Bond, Indiana.
Im the -matler of Condemnation Resolution No. 83 for the opening of a
Street between Colfax Avenue and Lae Salle Avenue and Lincoln Way West
and from Marian Street to Navarre Street known as William Street,
Replying to your proposition handed the undersigned by your Mr.,
Cla ghter Veneerning a reduction of thirty (30 per cunt) in the assessment wade
against the property of the undersigned in the above entitled matter, would say
that said vedurition is' not satisfactory mo the undersigned for the reason that
the assessment levied against Let numbered Forty seven (47) Hendrick's and
Grant's Addi-tion-to -Vh*- City of South Bend would still be excessive; that the
said property is not benefitted in the amount of the assessment that would
still be levied against said property with said thirty (30 per cent peduation.
If This honorable Board see fit to make a reduction in said assessment
of fifty (50 per Dent), although the undersigned would still believe said assess
ment excessive, yet for the purpose of avoiding litigation, said undersigned
would be willing to withdrew the remonstrance filed and pay said assessment
reduced by fifty (50 per cent )
If your Honorable Board desires to make one assessment against lots
numbe ed forty-one (41) Forty two (42) and forty seven (47) in Henrdek's and
Grant's Addition, that is,,group all three lots under one assessmenV you amy
do so, ..provided there is a reduction of fifty (50 per cent in the assessment le
levieo against all of said lots.
