Board met in regular"session'at 9:00'A.#. All members present.
City Engineer present,
R. R. Smith Viee President and Gen'j. Mgr. of the Chicago,
South.Bend, & Northern Indiana Ry. Co. in regard to paving of Chapin Street.
Robert Swi.ntz Xommander of the American Legion appeared before
the Board in regard to permssion to drill holes,in the cement sidewalks in the
business district for th Acing of flag staffs so the American flag can be
properly displ2yed.
Permiision granted American Legion to drill hales in sidewalks
not closer than 12 inohes to curd, along business district, for the purpose of
placing staffs holding American Plags, and to be used for no other purpose. To
be approximately twenty (20') feet apart. No obstruction to be above grade of
sidewalk, when staff is not in place, and iron socket to be capped when not in
use- The..American Legion guarantees sockets and staff's shall be used for
American Fla
g3 only, in proper manner.
Resolution ordered on petition filed March 4th., 1925 for
pavement on Thirty Fourth ( Formerly 16th. Street,) Street, from Mishawaka Avenue
to Grand Trunk•Western Railroad.
Complaint about pale in way of proposed driveway of 618 Lineol
Way Test reported on by Wm. F. Qualls Inspector as follows:- This pole is
a trolley pulp Art and could not be moved so the driveway was rearranged -
accordingly. Placed on file.
In Re communication received from Indiana & Michigan Elec. Co.
requesting that are light at the corner of Lincoln Way East and Wayne Street
to the opposite side of Lincoln Wrayt reported on as follo":-- To relocated

Amsterdam Casualty Company. Approved.
Communication received from South Bend Chamber of Commerce
in regard to the American Legion drilling holes in sidewalks for the placing
of fdg staff`s to properly displat the American Flag and requested permi ssion
be granted. Read and ordered filed.
Flags were ordered from the American Legion for the City Hail
and Lot North, one flag for every Twenty (20' ) feet, or more. Two Flags at
entrance to City Hall.
Petition signed by D. M. Shively et al requesting that a
light be placed at the intersection of the alley running from Jefferson Ylvd.
to WNa,yne Street and from Alain Street to Lafayette Blvd. Petition denied and
clerk instructed to notify D. M. Shively of this action.
