Meeting adjourned to Common Council room in C-ity Hall at 7:30 P.M.
The Board of Public 'Works have under consideration, the con-
struction of a. Trunk sewer under Improvement Resolution No. 1445 for Trunk sewer►
known as the Rex, Cushing and Van Buren Street Trunk -se-wAr-,, and having given notice

The Board now finds that the area or district to be drained is
properly bounded as described in said preliminary resolu'tionmand further finds
that the spacial b-6nef117s -to the City ( if any) will be equal to or exceed the
estimated cost of said proposed improvement as shown by hhe estimate of the pity
Engineer, heretofore filed, and the said resolution is now in all things confirmed.-
neolved further, that notices be published on thel5th. clay of
December 1924 and or. the 22nd. day of December 1924 in the South Bend News Times
and South Bend Tribune in said Cite, newspapers of general circulation, stating
that this Board will receive bids for the construction of said: improvement up to
10:00 A.M. Tuesday December 30th., 1924. The Board reserves the right to reject
.,any and all rids. ,

Hearing had on assessment roll and final estimate for grade,
curb and.w$lk on Ewing Avenue from•. Michigan Street to Olive Street under Improve-

In 'the above matter Atty. Strickland appeared and objected to
amount of assessment. The.Board after hearing all parties interested, there

and said roll modified and this .sum to be paid by City. The Board therefore
further find that the property assessed in said roll filed November 25th., 1924
is benefitted in the amounts as shown on said modified roll, snd the Board further,
find, that the assessment roll filed .November 25th.9 1924 and the final estimate
allowed November 25th., 1924 should be and the same are hereby in all things,
ratified, confirmed and approved, as modified.
Hearing had on assessment, rolls and Final estimaes for the
following Improvements: -
Brick -pavement on alley south of Division Street from Franklin
Street to William Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 1203. Filed Nov.
1924.
Grade, curb and walk on Van Buren Street from Sancome.Avenue to
C. I. & S. Ry. under Improvement Respluttdn No.1433 Filed Nov. 18th., 1924.
. Brick pavement on Fellows Street. from Division Street to Monroe
Street under Improvement Resolution No. 1414. Filed November 19th.0 1924.

In the above matter remonstrators appeared and no written remon
strance was filer. The Board therefore find that the property assessed in said
rolls filed November 18th.9 and 19th.9 1924 is benefitted In the amounts as. -.shown
on said rolls, and the Board further find, that the assessment rolls filed and
November 18th., ,net 19th., 1924 and the final estimates allowed Nov.
19th.9 1924 should be and the same are hereby in all things ratified, e,onfirmec
and approved. ,

Contract with Isaaw W. ,Staples as .contractor for the pipe sewer on
Woodside Street from Michigan Street tOFeilows Street as provided by resolution
No. 1439 adopted October 1-4th., 1924,. signed., and construction bond attached
tl e`reto in the sum of 11,957.00 with the Fidelity & Deposit, Company -of Maryland
as sureties approved. Contract and bond,ordered filed.,.

Street Commissioner instru-oted to assist Wm. Qualls Pole and
Wire Inspector and Supt. of Police and Fire Alarms to installing a new automatic
traffic light, at the corner of Lincoln Way East and Jefferson Street.

Proposition received from Arthur V. Meyers Plumber in re
furnishing new end section on radiator. in wagon room at No. 6 Hose House at
24.00 if additions seetlons are necessary add tr12.DJ each . Approved and Clerk
instructed to notify Arthur Meyers.
Communication received from Attgrney Samuel Feiwell
representing John Chumas in re damages for the death of son Andy Chumss. Peferred
to City Attorney L. W. Hammond.
Clerk instructed to notify City Controller to release money
held up on R. N. Barnes Contractor for the grade, curb and walk on Washington
Avenue, and to Reith.Riley-Construction Company on Hastings. Street and South
Franklin Street grade, curb and walk improvements.
Contract with A. Sp,doni for pipe sewer on Frances Street
from St. Vincent Street to a point 40 feet south of the South. line of Napoleon
Street as. provided in Improvement Resolution No. 1440 adopted October. 14th,
1924 signed and construction bona attached thereto in the sum of $57.6.00 {
with the Standard Accident Insurance Company of Detroit, Michigan as sureties,
approved. ' Contraet and bona ordered filed.
Indiana & Michigan Electric Company notified to discontinue
for the winter months lights Nos. 447-6e6--687-699-700-837 and 8_38 end incandesce*
LtEhls Nos. 1501.and 1502, same being in Leeper,Park
Engineer signed assessment roll and final astirm1p for
water connections on Sorin Street from Notre.Dame Avenue �o Eddy Street, under•
