Harrop as contractor for Sunnyside Trunk Sewer as provided by Improvement Resolution No. .1399 adopted June 4th. 1924, signed and construction bond attached thereto in the. sum of $31,241.00 with the Fidelity and Deposit Company of Maryland as sureties approved. Bids received and read as follows. Under ImProvement Resolution No. 1455 for pipe sewer on Bissell Street from Arthur Street to El. line of Park Place Add. A. Spadoni, S. U. Ackerman, Rocco Simeri C. E. Reesh and L. H. Webster ( See Files for original bids.). Bids were referred to Engineering Dept. to be reported.. on Wednesday August 13th., 1924. City Engineer having reported on petitions referred to him under date of &uggst 5th.9 1924 and contract awarded as follows: - Concerning the improvement od the roadway of Lincoln Way East' from Washington Avenue to South line.of Sample Street by paving and widening same, In ,pursuance to Resiution No. 1330 petition of freeholders residing on said street, is con - sidered, and the report of the City Engineer is received and all edidenoe is heard, and the Bard of Pub110 Works finds that said petitioners constitute a Majority in number of the freeholders residing upon said street, lo. be improved, and that said petit.i ie°sst f-f-1, iefit`-"aad fti i$ Lhereforre consideree anc `' ` i4ged that; said improvement be 'tt d• with Sheet asphalt using Mexican Asphalt, with Metropolitan Brick and asphalt filler in car track the kind of pavement requested in said petition; and the City Engineer reports that Williston Construction Company is the lowest and best'biAder for said im- provement,. and the Board so finds, and lets the contract for said improvement to him, and orders that said improvement, be made with Sheet asphalt using Mexican Asphalt, with Metropolitan brick and asphalt filler in street car tracks and all proceedings heretofore had in this matter are hereby confirmed and ratified. Gentlemens- ..This Company has recently been 31equest*d by residentS in the southweS ,section of the City to extend bus service beyond the point, now served by the Fellows Street line. We hivo' also' been requested by users of the Linden Avenue bus line to stake a change in the routing of that line. Both of the changes requested are of a minor nature and they therefore come within, the power of the Board of Works to allow Minor changes in the route followed by the .bus lines, It• is our oponlon- that the changes asked for will serve tho people in these localities better than the present routes, and we therefore respectful* petition - your Board for permission to operate Fellows Street line from Erskine Blvd. east on Victoria Street to Mimi Street, north on Miami Street'to Ewing Avenue and west on Ewing Avenue to Fellows Street, the balance of the route being as now�in effect. We also respectfully petition your Board for permission to operate the Linden Avenue Bus Line .over Fassnaeht Avenue to Johnson Street, south on Johnson Street to -Linden Avenue, and then west on Linden Avenue to the present terminus, the balance of the rout* being as now in effect.. This petition is in duplicate and if it erects with the approval of the Board we would request that on-60opy be stamped approved and returned to us for our files.
