Councilman Ole jnizak, 'Hardman and Gusetzki appeared before the `Board
in regard to building a bridge over creek on B^ookfield Street. This matter to"be-
taken up with County Commissioners at next meeting.

the sum of $1,542.00 with the United States Fidelity & Guaranty Company as, -sureties
approved, contract and bond ordered filet.
Contract with H. L. Davis & Son for grade, curb and walk on
Fox Street from Vernon Street to Kline Street, as provided in improvement Res�qiu Lion
No. 1318 adopted February 19th., 1924 signed and construction Mond attached'.'%hereto
in the sum of $576.00 with the United States Fidelity & Guaranty Company as sureties
approved. Contract and bond ordered riled.
Contract with J. A. Barnes for grade, curb and walk on Lfeade Street
from Elwood Avenue to Keller Street as provided in improvement Resolution No. 1356
adopted April 16th.9 1924 signed and construction bond attached thereto in the sum
of $1,615.00 with United States Fidelity & Guaranty Company as sureties, approved
Contract and bond ordered filed.
Contrac-1, with J. A. Barnes for grade and curb on both s1des and
sidewalk on east side of Gertrude Street from Prairie Avenue to Ewing Avenue, as.
provided in improvement Resolution No. 1323 adopted March lath., 19243, signed
and construction bond attached thereto in the sum of 1,345.00 with Unite,4,., Stales
Fidelity & Guaranty Company as sureties approved. Contract and bond ordered -filed.
Excavation bond of Ray Blanford and Aetna Casualty Company as
sutteties approved.
Indiana & Michigan Elea. Co. notified to remove pole from middle
of McPherson Street.
Indiana & Michigan Elea. Co. notified to remove pole a t'c'orner of
Park Avenue and Horatio Court.
Petition received from Mr. Munzer of 707 Dunham Street about light
at corner of Kendall Street and Dunham Street. Referred to Inspector.

J. W. Fites Street Commissioner reported on complaint of Mr. Strickler
about sewer tap at Portage Avenue and Cushing Street. Plumber uncovered tap eight, feet
from curb and found pipe had settled down and the joints were open this is no fault,
of City.. Report approved.
Atty. Crumpacker,.Carlisle and Wm. S. Mowve Citil Engineer with James
Judie appeared beforethe Board and took Vp matter of building owned by James Judie on
o Northwest, corner of Michigan Street, and Jefferson Street being out on City property.
The matter being discussed .by all parties present, it was finall decided thq,t the City
Engineer and Wm. S. Moore work out some way to weaarange building so as to remove
from City property.

Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend:
In accordance with,the statement, of Mr. Strickland, made to you on
April 23,1924, when you cancelled the lease entered into on the 77th. day of February,
1907, by and between the Municipal City of South Bend, Indiana, by and through its Board
of Public Works, and Studebaker Brothers Manufacturing Company, for the following
described property in the City of South Bend, to -wit: -
The easterly ,four (4) feet of Lot Numbered Two Hundred forty-four
�244)`and all of Lot Numbere _. Two Hundred forty three (243). a total of twenty-nine
29) feet in all, in Daniel Garth's Addition to South Bend City m now a part of the City
of South Bend, we are writing you this letter.
The Studebaker Corporation is now the owner of said property and has
no objection to the firemen from No. 2 Hose House using the premises for their reereaton
and amusement, or for the making flower beds as they have in the past. They may con-
tinue to use this property as they have in the past, with the understanding that, this
does not in any way create a lien or easement upon the real estate, but, is a mere license
given without consideration, which may be revoked at will by the Studebaker Corporation,
This property has been left outside of the' fence which encloses the adjoining property,
so tha-t,the firementt may feel free to use the same.
