'J, P7,Fites 'Street Commissioner appeared before the Board .and filed a written report about Lincoln School authorities filling in Randolph Street and report from Wm. E. Graves Asst City Engineer. Board to investigate same, Petitions filed as . follows: - sidewalk on the north side of East South Street from the east line d =. of Rush Street to fifty eight (58) feet easy; of the east line of Rush Street. Con:pan# and presented the following communication ,which was approved by the Board. Monday June 16th. ,1924 Board of Public Works' s City of South Bend, Indiana. " Gentlemen:- " Under -the contract between the City of South Bend, and the Chicago, -South Bend, & Northern Indiana Railway Company, governing the operation of the Linden .Avenue bus line, it is within the power of. the Board of.Works 'be allow minor changes in the. route followed by the bus line. After careful study of the route which is being at present followed, it appears to thi's eompany that the public will be bet*er, served by a, slight change. At the present time the busses operate over La Porte Avenue to WAlnut Street, south on Walnut to Linden , and weSt on Linden . This Company respectfully petitions your Board for ermission to change this route so that Musses will operate over La Porte Avenue to Passnacht Avenue, west on Fassnacht to Birdsell Street, then south on)Birdsell to Linden Avenue, and west on Linden Avenue. The proposed route will be one which will, in our opinion, serve the people better, and will make a safer turn :te at Fassnacht and LaPorte Avenue, thAn the 'presen-t route.
