Seebirt and City engineer P'. J. Anderson also present. This being the date set for deferred hearing on Resolution No. 4 for Grade Separation of New York Central Railroad Company. Attorney John Buczkowski appeared representing certain property owners in Nest part of City and requested that consideration be given to having grade separation extended west.of Chapin Street. Chas. Niedbalski and Stanley Kol- kiewicz appeared in support of same proposition. Attorney John G. Yeagley appeared representing New -York Central Railroad Company, After hearing all parties present hearing was e t' d Eadnesday April 2nd, 1924, at 9:00 A.M.. Hearing had on Resolution No. 1321 for grading of alley sQu-ah.of Haney Avenue between Rush Street, and Marietta Street. Pro elrty owners a pTeared remonstrating against the improvement., The Board, after hearing all interested, parties present rescinded all former action of the Board on said ReSolution Mayor ELi F. Seebirt appeared and took up the matter of adopting new specifications and issuance of notices for street lighting. Mr. Charles Calvert and Mr. Thomas English of the Indiana & Michigan ElectricL. Company. appeared and presented matters on street lighting. The following Resolution was adopted for plans and specifications of street lighting, -together with ` form of proposal and form df contract to be entered.into: RESOLUTION BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS CI "Y OF SOUTH LEND Resolution 4opting plans and specifications for lighting:the streets, alleys, boulevards, parks and public places of the City of South Bend, Indiana, together with form of proposal and form of contract to be entered into with the successful bidder. BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS. By L. B. SLAUGHTER President. r RESOLUTION NO. RESOLVED: 1. That the Board of Public Works in the City of :3.oiith Bend, Indiana, does hereby adopt the attached plans and specifications for lighting the streets, alleys, boulevards, parks and public places of the City of South Bend and the form of contract embodying the same which the Board proposes to enter into provided a satisfactory bid for said lighting is received. Copies of this resolution and of said plans and specifications shall be kept on file at the office of the Board for the use of bidders and other interested persons. 2. That sealed bids or proposals for the furnishing of lamps and light and the necessary maintenance of the same for the lighting of the streets, alleys, boulevards, parks and public places in the City of South Bend, Indiana, in accordance with said plans and specifications, enclosed in an envelope directed to the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, and endorsed "Proposal for Public Lighting" with the name of the persons or corporation making the bid, will be received by the Board of Public Works when called fort- during the meeting of said Board of Pulklic Works, to be held at its meeting place at Board of Works Office in the City Hall Building, in the City of Sough Bend, at the hour of 10 o'clock A. M. on the 15th day of April, 1924, and immediately thereafter, at said time, and place and during said session of.said Board of Public Works all bids received will be , publicly opened and read and the award of the con�raet, if awarded, will be made by resolution of the Board of Ou.blic Works as son thereafter as practicable. All bids shall be upon the attached form prepared therefor by the Board or upon a form substantially similar thereto. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids, 3.
