Strickland of -the Studebaker Corporation appeared before the Bpard.in regard to the widening of Sample St. This improvement was discussed but, no action taken. I Councilman Hardmn aEppeared before the Board and requested that alley in Augustine Addition be vacated. Resolution ordered.for_same on presentation of proper petition. Atty. John Yeagley appeared befeae't,he Board representating parties who intended to erect a $300.000.00 Hotel consisting of 140 rooms on lot on W. Colfax r Avenue.where:Willism Street is to be extended thru by the City, and stated that parties were refused a permit yesterday but really had started work on said above mentioned lot. Mr. Yeagley stated Mr. Hayden was purchasing property and Mr. Paxton and his b"Miar were financing it, also that a Chicago Architect has prepared plans and contracts was let and the State Board has approved all plans for such building, but the City Building Department had refused permit. Atty Yeagley stated if City was going than.with Opening of William Street that building project would be postponed at present+. Board agreed to meet Atty. Yeagley and discuss this matter and in the meantime all work on this building project, is to be postponed. The following resolution was adopted by the Board. CONDEMNATION RESOLUTION NO. 83. 1924. E. A. Coates of the Williston Constr. Company presence and agreed to pay 2,/3 of paving bill if Gas Company would stand to pay one third 1/3 of bill. Mr. _Nickels refused to agree .to this as his company would not.assume..any responsibilty for this repaving. No agpeement reached. The following bid was received and referred to the City Engineer. Pipe sewer on Miami Street from the south and og present sewer in Miami Street to the north curb line of Donmoyer Avenue. Petition for light at intersection of 22nd. street and.Grand Trunk R. R. Same referred to Pole and Wire Inspector. FE Permission is hereby granted to Indiana Bell Tele phone Company to place 4 inch�sewrr the from pole locstdd in the rear of 615 Riverside Drive approximately 60 ft. east of existing pole located in the alley between Hammond Court and Navarre Street west of St. Joseph Street. Petition received read and placed on file for pavement on Dubail Avenue from, Prairie Avenue to Kemble Avenue, Petition filed and resolution ordered for sewer on Kosciuszko Street from Indiana Avenue to Prairie Avenue. M. at the office of said Board in the City Hall, South Bend, Indiana be the time and place when this Board will receive and hear remonstrances against the amounts assessed against each lot and parcel of land on said roll and will hear and determine whether such lots and parcels of land will be specially benefitted by said improvement by the amounts stated and set forth in said rolls.
