The Board met in regular session at 7-I5 P. m. All members
present.
Yinutes of meetings held December 27th , and December 28th.,
1927, read and approved.
This being the date set, hearings were had on the following
assessment rolls:
Assessment roll for the pavement of Turnock Street from South J
Bend Avenue to Corby Street under Improvement Resolution No.I862.
Assessment roll for the grade,and rmlk improvement on Olive St. ,,1
from Bergan Street to Wilson Street under Improvement Resolution No.I935.
Assessment roll for the grade,. curb and walk improvement on j
Liberty Xtreet from Washington Avenue to Jefferson Blvd., under Improvement Resolution
No.I900.

Assessment roll for the grade, curb and walk improvement on 11kinHE
Street from Division street to Jefferson Blvd., under Improvement Resolution No.I828.;!
Assessment roll for the pavement of the Ist. , alley west of
McPherson Street from Division street to Napier Street under Improvement Resolution
No.I876.
In all of the above named assessment rolls, no remonstrators
appeared and no written remonstrance was filed and the Board, being fully advised in
the premises finds that the several lots and parcels of land primarily assessed for
said improvements have been benefited in the amounts named on said assessment rolls.
The Board, therefore, takes final a.etion on said assessment rolls, declaring same in
all things ratified, confirmed and approved and the proceedings closed. The Board n
orde°s said assessment rolls delivered to the Department of Finance.
The Board approved the following Guarantee Bonds:
Guarantee bond of Alex Bukowski for the pavement of the Ist. , alley
south of Napier Street from Ialnut to laurel Street under Improvement Resolution No.I8;�1 3.
The Board approved same in the amount of 606.00, which is IO;o of the construction
cost of same, signed by the United States Fidelity & Guaranty Company.
Guarantee bond of Alex Bukowski for the pavement of the Ist. ,
alley barest of 11cPherson ,from Division 'Street to Napier 'street under Improvement Res-
olution No.I876. The Board approved .same in the amount of $M.58 signed by the
United States �'idelity and Guaranty "ompany.
G-aarantee bond of Rieth Riley Construction Co., for .the pavemen
on Harriett Street from Mishawaka Avenge to Hildreth Street under Improvement Resolu-
tion No.I883. The Board approved and signed same in the amount of $1$581.65 signed
by the Southern Surety Co.

Board approved same in: the amount of $3,998.39 signed by the Southern Surety Company.

In both of the above named assessment rolls, remonstrators appeared but
no written remonstrance was filed. After hearingall persons interested in said assess
meet rolls, the Board decides to continue hearing on same until the I8th., day of
January 1928. !I

!� City Engineer, 11r. H. G. ;:dray, filed the primary assessment roll for the
'l local sewer dystem knovrn as the Randolph -Hoke Local Sewer System under Improvement
l Resolution No.I773.
In the above named assessment roll, the Board, hereby orders that on the
25th. , day of January I928, this Board will meet in the office in the City H .11 at i
7-I5 P. 11. , to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose property has been
assessed for said improvement and will decide whether the s everallots and parcels of
land primarily assessed for said improvement have been or will be benefited in the
amounts named on said assessment roll or in a greater or less sum than that named on i
said roll. The Board further orders that notices of said hearing shall be published
on the I3th. , day of January and on the 20th. , day of JaAuary 1928 in the South Bend
News Times and Tribune according to law.
City Engineer, Mr. H. G. Tray, submitted a petition signed by 55% of the
owners of all lots in C. R. Smith's I�'econd Subdivision, for the sewer and pavement
improvement in and along sake excepting therefrom the border streets, as provided
i� for in Chapter No 236 of the Acts of the General bssembly of the State of Indiana
approved larch IOth.; 1927. In the matter bf the above petition, upon the recommen-
dation of City Engineer, I.ir. H. G. Wr&y, the Board appoints Charles W. Cole as the
engineer to take charge D; said improvement. Thereupon, Mr. Charles if. Cole, filed
plans, spe-cificatio's and estimates and the Board adopted a resolution for.the construe
ion of a sewer and shebt asphalt pavement on College, Adams and Brookfield streets
from Elwood -Avenue to Humbolt Street, (being all of the streets in C. R. Smiths second
Subdivision) except therefrom the border streets, under Improvement Resolution No.I976.

�j In the above named improvement resolution, the Board hereby orders that
!! on the 25th., day of January 1928, this Board ;--111 meet in their office in the City
Hall to hear and reeeiv remonstrances from all persons whose property may be affected
by said improvements and will decide whether the several lots and parcels of land will
be benefited in proportion to the estimated cost of said improvements. The Board
further orders that notice of said hearing shall be published on the I3th. , day of
January 1928 in the South Bend News Times and Tribune according to law.
