Board met in regular session at 9 A. Y. All members present. City Ihgineer, Mr. H. G. Wray, filed partial estimate No. I for the rading improvement of the first alley south of C lvert Street from Chapin Street to endall Street, in accordance with the terms of tRe contract between the City and H. W. Plumbeck, contractor, under Improvement Resblution No.I966. Board signed and approved same in the amount of �76.50. The Board approved the Guarantee Bond of Hoban and Roach, contractors, for the pavement of _ the Ist. , alley north of Marion street from Ma3.n Street to the Ist. , alley east of Main 6treet under Improvement Resolution No.I958. Board approved samle in the amount of 60.I4, which is I0% of the construction cost of same, signed by the Southern Surety Co. The Board approved the Guarantee Bond of Hoban and Roach, contractors, for the pavement on; Turnock Street from South Bend Avenue to Corby Street under Improve- ment No.I862. Board approve,! same in the amount of $603.25 which is I0% of the cibnstrue- ion of same, signed by the Southern Surety Co. The Board approved the following Excavation Bonds Excavation Bond of Louis Niesgodski in the amount of JI,000.00 signed by the Hartford Accident and Indemnity Go. il Excavation bond of Ernest C. Traver in the amount of $I,000.00 signed by Ithe Columbia Casualty Co. �! Excavation bond of Adoplh Dutrieux a Co., in the amount of $I,000.00 signed by the Fidelity and Casualty Co., of New York. Excavation Bond of United Heating and Plumbing Co., in the amount of I,000.00 signed by the Fidelity and Casualty Co., of New York. The New York Central Railroad Company, through Yx. Button, It's Grade Separation Engineer, requested permission of the Board of Works to cons truct,i their cente pieces at Lafayette Boulevard, in connection with the grade separation work, around the existing sewer. The Board grated this request with the understanding that if this arrangement of encasing the existing sewer was not satisfactory, the City of South Bend would by p-ablic contract, divert the existing sewers on Main and Michigan Streets in connection with the grade separation work at these points City Zrigineer, Mr. H. G. 'Wray, filed primary assessment roll for the sewer in Donald Street from the alley east of Leer street to Sampson *street under Impr ment Resolution No.I798. In the above named assessment roll, the Board hereby orders that on the 25th. , day of January, 19289 this Board will, meet in their office in the City HaS l- at • 7-I5 P. 1., to hear -and receive remonstrances from all persons whose property has been assessed for said improvement and will decide whether the several lots and parcels of land primarily assessed for said improvement have been or will be benefited in the amount named on said assessment roll or in a greater or less amount than that named on said roll The Board fur Lher orders that notices of said hearing shall be published on the Nth., 52.4 Tuesday, January 3rd., 1928. day of January and on the 20th. , day, of January 1928 in the douth Bend News times and Tribune. i Meeting adjourned at I2 O'Clock noon. resi en att --sted: WEDNESDAY EVENING JANUARY 4th. I928. The Board met in regular session at 7-I5 P. M. All members present. 11nutes of meetings held December 27th., and December 28th., 1927, read and approved. This being the date set, hearings were had on the following assessment rolls: Assessment roll for the pavement of Turnock Street from South Bend Avenue to Corby Street under Improvement Resolution No.I862. Assessment roll for the grade,and rj,lk improvement on Olive St..,' from Bergan Street to Wilson Street under Improvement Resolution No.I935. Assessment roll for the grade, . curb and walk improvement on Liberty Atreet from Washington Avenue to Jefferson Blvd. , under Improvement Resolution' No.I900. . i Assessment roll for the grade, curb and walk improvement on Tlkineis Street from Division -Dtreet to Jefferson Blvd., under Improvement Resolution No.I828.;: Assessment roll for the pavement of the Ist. , alley west of McPherson Street from Division street to Napier Street under Improvement Resolution No. 1676. In all of the above named assessment rolls, no remonstrators appeared and no written remonstrance was filed and the Board, being fully advised in the premises finds that the several lots and parcels of land primarily assessed for said improvements have been benefited in the amounts named on said assessment rolls. The Board, therefore, takes final action on said assessment rolls, declaring same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved and the proceedings closed. The Board approved the following Guarantee Bonds: Guarantee bond of Alex Bukowski for the pavement of the Ist. , alley south of Napier Street from Iralnut to 4.urel Street under Improvement Resolution No.I873. The Board approved' same in the amount of 606.00, which is IO;o of the construction cost of same, signed by the United States Fidelity & Guaranty Company. Guarantee bond of Alex Bukowski for the pavement of the Ist. , alley direst of McPherson from Division street to Napier Itreet under Improvement Res- olution No.I876. The Board approved .same in the amount of $121.58 signed by the United Otates Videlity and Guaranty `Ompany. Guarantee bond of Rieth Riley Construction Co., for .the pavemen on Harriett Street from Mishanaka Avenge to Hildreth Street under Improvement Resole- tion No.I883. The Board approved and signed same in the amount of I, 58I.65 signed by the Southern Surety Co.
