Tuesday, November 29th., 1927.
Board met in regular session at 9 A. l:z. John J. Ole jniczak
and H. G. Wray absent.
Minutes of meetings held November 22nd. , and November 23rd. ,
I927, read and approved.
This being the date set, bids wL>re received, opened and read
for the grading of the first alley south os Calvert Street between Chapin and Kendall
Street under Improvement resolution No.1966. Bids as fallouts:
H. W. Plumbeck .90 cu yard
The above. bid handed to City Engineer for tabulation.
City torney, Mr. I. S. Romig, filed the following Resoluti
for the appointment of appraisors, as introduced and passed by the City Council:
RESOLUTION FOR APPOINTMENT OF APPRAISORS.
"Be it resolved .by the Common Council of the City of South
Bend, Indiana, that the Judge of the St. Joseph Circuit Court be, and is hereby,
requested to appoint three (3) dipinterested freeholders of said City for the apprai
ment of the following described persohal property, situate in said City, to -wit:
I. I 2 story, frame, seven room Dwelling and garage, situat
at I460 Lincoln 'flay East.
2. I! 'Itory, frame seven room dwelling and garage situate a
I6II Kline 6treet.
3. 2 Story, frame, eight room dwelling and garage, situate
at.I6I3 Kline Street.
4. 2 Story, frame, seven room dwelling and garage, situate
at I62I Randolph Street.
5. I.b 7, frame, six room Dwelling, situate at 1625 Kline
Street.
6. I2 Story frame, six room dwelling, situate at I502 East
Calvert street.
7. I-j Story, frame, six room dwelling, situate at 1501 East
Boizmn Otreet.
8. I Story, f raipe, four room dwegling, situate at I502 east
Bowman.

The above buildings should be approaised free from real estate.

hereby certify that the above and foregoing is a true and correct copy of the resolution
duly introduced and passed by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, on the
2Ist., day of November, I927.

City attorney, 11r. I. S. Romig, filed the certificate of
appointment by Judge Cyrus Pattee of the Circuit of Frank Jeffries, George Dunderman
and Joseph Kish C,Jr. , as appraisors for the houses, garages and other buildings
located in the �'ity of ''outh Bend, Indiana, acquired by the City in the Kline Street
widening. Whereupon the Board adopts a resolution for the sale of said buildings
and orders that on the 20th. , day of vecember, 1927, and from day to day thereafter
until said buildings add each of them are sold, these buildings will be offtred for
sale to the highest and best bidder for not less than the appraised valhe thereof
and for cash; and each building sold shall be removed from the premises by the
purchaser at his orm expense br':.the first',day..of Apr l.-_190-0 Y
The title to said building shall remain in the said Municipal "ity of
South Bend, Indiana, until the remobal thereof within said time, and upon the failur
ofpurchaser to remove the same within said time, the City shall have,;. and hereby
reserves the right to revoke the sale with6ut liability to the purchaser and to reta
as its own property twenty-five percent of the purchase price as liquidated damages

The Board further orders that notices of said sale of buildings
shall be published on the Ist. , day of December and on the 8th. , day of ecember,
2927 in the South Bend News Times and Tribune.
Claims amounting to 2,1.95.03 signed and approved by the Board.

WEDNESDAY NOVE11BER 30th. , 1927.
Board met in regular session at 7-I5 P. Pry. All members present.
This being the date set, hearings were had on -the following improve-
ment resolutions:
Improvement resolution No.I973 for the local sewer in Eckman Street
between the west line of Lindbergh Park Addition and Miami Street.
Improvement Resolution No.I974 for the local sewer in Robinson Street.
from the South-east Trunk Sewer to the New York Central R. R.
Improvement Resolution No.I975 for the grading of the alley vest, of
Miami Street from Irvington Street to Fairview Avenue.
In all of the above improvement ' resoluti ons, no remonstrators appeared
and no written remonstrance was filed and the Board, being 'fully advised in the premise
finds that the benefits to the several lots and parcels of land liable to be assessed
for said improvements will be equal to the estimated costsof same, as reported by the
City Engineer. The Board, therefore, takes final action on said resolutions and
declares same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved alithout modification.
in the matter of Improvement resolutions No.I973 for the local sewer
in Eckaman Street and No.I974 for the local sewer in Robinson Street, the Board, hereby;
orders that on the I3th. , day of December, I927, this Board will open, receive and read li
sealed proposals for the construction of said sewers up to I0:00 A. 11. The Board further
orders that notices of said proposals shall be published in the South,Bend News Times
and Tribune on the 2nd., day of December and on t:�e 9th., day of December, I927.
This being the date set, continued hearing was had on Improvement
Resolution No.I963 for the pavement of (,ueen Street from Portage Avenue to Blaine Avenu
In the above matter, the Board decides to continue hearing on same until December 28th.,�

The Board signed the contract with John Lugaresi for the construction
of a local sewer in Anderson Avenue between Elwood Avenue and -wing Street under Improve
ment Resolution No.I962. Board also signed and approved construction bond for same
in the amount of 4382.40, which is I00 of the contract price, signed by Employers
Liability Assurance Co.
The Board approved the renewal excavation bond of Arthur V. Meyer.
The Board approved the renewal bond of Emil Spromberg signed by
