This being the date set, hearings were had on the following assessment rolls: Assessment roll for the pavement improvement on Kaley Street from Division Street to Kaley Street under Improvement Resolution No.I885. Assessment roll for the pavement improvement on Kendall Street from Indian Avenue to the T. H. & L. R. R. under Improvement Resolution No.I908. Assessment roll for the pavement improvement on Howard Street from South Bend Avenue to the west line of Morey's Sub., under Improvement Resolution No.I889. Assessment roll for the pavement improvement -of-Liston atreet from Birdsel Street to Adams Street under Improvement Resolution No.I925. Assessment roll for the widening and pavement of Main Street from the South curb line of "Jayne to the north curb fine of Division street -_,-under Improvement Resolution No.I867. In all of the above named assessment roll remonstrators appeared but no written remonstrance was filed and the Board, being fully advised in the premises, finds that the several lots and parcels of land primarily assessed for said improvement have been benefited in the amounts named on said assessment rolls. The Board, therefor takes final action on said assessment rolls, and declares same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved and the proceedings closed. Romig, the Board adopted the following Resolution: Sta e of Indiana City of South .Bend BEFORE THE BOARD MF PUBLIC 17ORKS RESOLUTION Resolved by the Board of Public :'forks of the City of South Bend, Indiana, That: Whereas, on the 2nd. , day of August, 1927, Charles P. Wattles, and others, filed in the office of the Auditor of St. Joseph County, in the State of Indiana, their petition for the improvement of a certain highway, in Portage Township of said County; in trJlich proceedings, the beginning, course aidd termination of said proposed improvement is as follows: Beginning at a point where the West line of the right-of-way of the Grand Trunk ''iestern Railway Oompany intersects Sample Street, in the City of South Bend, in said County; thence running west along and upon said Sample Street Roa on the North boundry line of Sections 15, 16 and the Northeast Quarter () of Section 17, of Township 37 North, Range 2 East, to where it intersects the public Road known as the Nasturtilum or Portage Road at the North Quarter post of said Section I7, where it terminates, being less that three (3) miles in length. And whereas, said petition was afterward duly referred to Viewers, an and said Viewers have duly filed their determination and report thereon, with complete !j plans, specifications and an accurate profile of said highway to be improved by said proceedings; And Whereas, a part of said highwat proposed to be improved is within the corporate limits of the said City of South Bend, Indiana, which said part is a portion -;f Sample Street in said City; Therefore, Be It Resolved by the Boarl of Public Works of the. • 0` Wednesday, November 23rd. , 1927. �01 7 South Bend, Indiana, that this Board does hereby consent to and approved said -,proposed improvement of said highway and street, and of said portions of said Sample Street in the City of South Bend, by the Board of Commissioners of St. Joseph County, State of Indiana, under said petition, as set forth and described: in said proceedings, and according to the plans, specifications and profile:::novr on fi1.e in the office Pf the County Autitor of said County; the s7rade within the City is to comform to the establish ed grade of said Sample atreet in said City. In the above named assessment roll, the Board hereby orders that on the 30th., day of November, I927, this Board will meet in their office in the City Hall at 7-I5 P. M., to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose property has been assessed for said improvement and will decide whether the several lots and parcels of land have been benefited in the amounts shown on said roll or in a greater or less sum than that shown on said roll.
