All i members Minutes of meetings held November 8th. , and November This being the date set, continued hearing was had o# the assessment roll for the con truetion of pavement on Ewing Avenue from Miami Stree to Leer Street under Improvement Resolution No.I833. In the above named assessment roll, after hearing all persons interested in or affected by said said improvement, the Board finds that the several lots and parcels of land, primarily assessdd for said improvement have been benefited in the amounts named on said assessment roll. The Board, therefore; takes final action on said assessment roll and declares same in all -things ratified, confir ed and approved and the proceedings closed. The Board novi orders said assessment rol delivered to the Department of Finance. The Board signed the contract with Edward Di Julio for the construction of a sewer in College Street from Elwood Avenue to Keller .Street and Improvement Resolution No.I954.. The Board also approved the construction bond on same in the amount of 2, IO2.I0, which is 50 % of the contr��_ct price signed by the Inland Bonding 00. No petitions having been filed for a change of the type of pavement other than that specified in the preliminary order for the pavement of McKinley Avenue from the east line of Greenlawn Avenue to the west line of Twenty - Second 6treet under Improvement Resolution No.I923, the Board this I5th., day of November, 1927, hereby makes a final order for sheet aspandilt, heavy traffic, as the type of pavement with which said street, shall be improvesh and awards the contract for said improvement to Williston Construction Company at their low bid of 23,359.95. The Board approved the Guarantee Bond of Harry N. Barne for the pavement on Miner Street from Eddy Street to the east line of Madison Psrk Addition under Improvement Resolution No.I865. This bon for I0% of the eonstruetion cost of said improvement, 1,380.70, signed by the United States Fidelity & Guaranty. Co. The Board approved the Guarantee Bond of Harry N. Barne for the pavement on Ewing Avenue from Niami Street to Leer Street under Improvement Resolution No.I833. This bond for I0% of the construction cost of said improvement, $86I.44, signed by the United States Fidelity w Guaranty Co. The Board approved the Guarantee Bond of VI. J. Nees Co. for the pavement, grade, curb and walk improvement on Sherman Avenue, Rose, Roosevelt and Beale Street under Improvement Resolution No.179I. This bond for I0% of the construction Cost, $8,409.30, signed by the Southern Surety Co. • 0 • Tuesday, November I5th., 1927. This being the date set, bids were,,.,received, opened and read for the construction of a sewer in the Alley south of Campau Street from Frances ttreet to .the center line of Lot 5 Turnock & Hartman's dub., under Improvement Resolution No.I96I. Upon the recommendation of V7m., F•'',4,uh11p the Board approved. the installation of a 4000 lumen light at the int=?resection of wing avenue and Main Street at amcost of 4'45.00 per year. Upon the recommendation of VVm. F. Qualls, the Board orders the lights turned off in the parks and playgrounds to confrom to the winter schedule for same. jl City Engineer, Mr. H. G. Wray, submitted partial estimate No.4 on material in place in trench and on material no in place but along the line of sewer, known as 'the Northwest Trunk Sewer %ons stem,in accordance with the terms of the contract between the City and J. J. Dunnegantruction Co., contractors, under Improvement Resolution No.1774. Board signed and approved same in the amount of II9,457.I2. j The Board of appra sors, Edward Pfeiffer, David C. Gibson and Willi P. Fury, filed primary assessment roll for ,the widening of McKinley Avenue under Condem- nation Resolution No.I903. In the above named assessment roll, the Board hereby orders that on the 28th., day of December, 1927, this Board will meet in their office in the City Hall at 7-I5 P. I . , . to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose property has been affected by said proceedings and will decide whether the sevaral lots and li, parcels of land have been or will be benefited or damaged in the amounts named on said 11 assessment roll or in a greater or less sum thah that shwon on said assessment roll. The Board further orders that notices be duly and legally given to all ovmers or holders of property, shoe=,ring the amount of the assessment or award, as the case may be, with a description of the property affected and the date of said hearing. li City engineer, 1dr. In both of the above named assessment rolls, the Board hereby orders that on the 22nd., day of November, I927, this Board will meet in their office • ii at I0:00 A. M., to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose property has been assessed for said improvement and will deck- whether the several lots and parcels of land have been or will be benefited in the amounts shown on said assessment roll or i !� a greater or less amount than that shownon said rolls. The Board further orders that notices of said hearings shall be published in the Sotth Bend News Times and Tribune on the I8th., day of November and on the I9th., day of November, I927, according to law. In the matter of Improvement resolution No.I966 for the grading of the Ist. , alley south of Calvert �'Itreet from Chapin ''treet to Kendall "Itreet, the Board hereby orders that on the 29th. , day of November, I927, this Board will receive, open and consider sealed proposals up to I0:00 A. ITT. Board further orders that notices of said proposals shall be published on the 17th. , day of November and on the 24th. , day of November, 1927, in the South Bend News Times and Tribune. In the matter of the remonstrance against the pavement of the alley west of Maple Street from Napier street to alley north of Jefferson under Improve- ment resolution No.I959, City Engineer, Mr. H. G. Wray, submitted a report as follows: "There are II resident property owners, five of whom have sighed th remonstrance. This does not constitute a majority, therefore, the alley should be impro ed. The Board signed the certificate for the Dunnegan Construct- ion Company for Partial estimate No.4 in the amount of $119,457.12. Meeting adjourned at 12 0°Clock. This being the date set, continued hearing was hdd on Improvement Resolution No.I963 for the pavement on Queen Street from Portage Avenue to Blaine Avenue. Upon the request of property owners, the Board decides to continue hearing on same until November 30th., 1927. This being the date set, hearing was had on the assess ment roll ,_for the pavement of Ewing Avenue from Michigan Street to the west line of Franklin Street under improvement Resolution No.I899. In the above named assessment roll, noremonstrators appeared and no written remonstrance was filed, and the Board, being duly advised in the premises, finds that the several lots and parcels of land primarily assessed for said improvement have been benefited in the amounts named on said assessment roll. Board, therefore, takes final action on said assessment roll, filed November 8th. , I927, and declares same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved and the proce ings closed. The Board now orders.said assessment roll delivered to the finance Dep; ment. The Board approved a continuation certificate of the Bond of Emil Spromberg in the ar_:ount of 3,000.00 signed by the Idetropolitan Casualty Co. City .Engineer, P;ir. H. G.
