Due to the large numbers of people present, the meeting was adjourned to the Council Chambers. �I This being the date set, hearings were had on the following improvement resolutions; Pavement on Scott Street from Calvert Street to Indiana Avenue under Jimprovement Resolution No.I943. j i Pavement on Twenty Third Street from Mishawaka Avenue to Kerslake Court ;under Improvement Resolution No.I949. Pavement on E1mer.Street.from Notre Dame Avenue to Eddy Street under j) (Improvement Resolution No.I947. Pavement of the alley between lots 129 and 130 in Gushing & Lindsay (Addition from Portage Avenue tp the alley west of Portage Avenue under Improvement Resolu' Rion No.I948. Sewer on College Street from Elwood Avenue to Keller Street under Improve it Resolution NoI954. II In all of the above named improvement resolutions, no remonstrators appear- ed and no written remonstrance was filed and the Board, being fully advised in the premix es finds that the several lots and parcels of land liable to be assessed for said improve ments will be benefited in proportion to the estimated cost of said improvements as reported by the City Engineer. Therefore, the Board takes final action on said improve- ment,, -.resolutions, and declares same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved withou modification. resolutions: This being the date set, hearings were had on the following improvement ., Pavement of 35th., Street from Jefferson Boulevard to Mishawaka Avenue unde improvement Resolution No.1944. Pavement of Vine Jtreet from 27th., Street to 30th., Street under improve- Iment Resolution No.I950. i 'I In both of the above named improvement resolutions, remonstrators appeared 'and the Board being fully advised in the premises, decides to take final action on said resolutions and declares all former action action taken on same null and void and the etion rescinded and the proceedings closed. �' IRThis being the date set, hearings were had on the following Vacation esolutions: Vacation Resolution No.I95I for the Vacation of a portion of the Ist., alle est of Kendall Street from Calvert Street to the Ist., alley north of Calvert Street. �I Vacation Resolution No.I952 for the vacation of the first alcond and third alleys west of College Street from the north line of Rupel Street to the south line of th Ist., alley north of Rupel Street, Vacation Resolution No.I953 for the vacation of the Ist., alley south of Beyer Avenue from the east line of Eddy Street to the Grand Trunk Western Railroad right f way line. Vacation Resolution No.I946 for the vacation of the alley between lots 3 and 22 in Bellevue Addition and the alley #etween lots 27 and 46 Bellevue Addition from ;the south line of Mishawaka Avenue to the•North line of .the alley south of Mishawaka ;venue. _— In all of the above named Vacation resolutions, no remonstrators appeared and no remonstrance was filed and the Board being fully advised in the premises, decides ,, o take final action on said vacation resolutions and declares same in all things ratifi- ed confirmed and approved. Hipskind for the construction )f the sewer on McKinley Avenue from 22nd., Street to Greenlawn Avenue under Improvement ,Resolution No.I9I9. The amount of the contract being $3,262.10 and the construction and for 54j of the contract price was signed by Inland Bonding Uo. City Engineer, 11r. H. G. tray, submitted partial estimate No.I for the rade, curb and walk improvement on nineteenth Street, Wi.slon Avenue and south 2 of `ashington Avenue in accordance with the terms of the contract..between the City and Carl 4S .Wednesday, October I9th. , 1927. E. Zimmer under Improvement Resolution No.I93I. Board approved and signed same in the amount of 4 , 643 4 00. City Engineer, Mr. H. B. Wray, submitted partial estimate :ors.. copy of contract between the City and the Albert Construction Co., for thepavement of Howard Street from South Bend Avenue to east line of Morey's Subdivision under Improv ment Resolution No.I8890 Board signed and approved same in the amount of I2,948.80. The Board approved the constraetors bond of $I,000000 in favor of William Henry House signed by The Fidelity and Casualty Co., of New York. The.Board approved a driveway at 1162 East r'ox Street. This being the date set, hearing was had, on the assessment roll for the pavement of Division street from east line of Chicago street to east line of Belleville Third Unit under Improvement Resolution No.I803. In the above named assessment roll, no written remonstrance was filed and the Board being fully advised in the premises, finds that the several lots and parcels of land primarily assessed for said improvement have been benefited in the amount named on said assessment roll. The Board, therefore, takes final action on said assessment roll and declares same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved and the proceedings closed. The Board now o-rders said assessment roll delivered to the Department of Finance. This being the date set, hearing was had on the assessment roll for thepavement of Lincoln xyay West from the north line of LaSalle Avenue to the �I west line of Cottage Grove Avenue under Improvement.Resolution No.I8I3. In the above named assessment roll, remonstrators appeared but no written remonstrance was filed, and the Board, being full advised in the premises finds that the several lots and parcels of land have been benefited in the amounts shown on modified assessment roll. The Board, therefore, takes final action on said modified roll and declares same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved as.modified. The Board now orders said assessment roll delivered to the Department of Finance. City Engineer, Mr. H. G. Wray, filed the following primary assessment rolls: Assessment roll for the pavement of Bertrand Street from Bendix Drive to Nancy Street under Improvement Resolution No.I902. Assessment roll for the pavement of the Ist., alley west of Johnson Street from Prast Street to Lincoln VI -ay west under Improvement Resolution No.I877. In both of the above named assessment rolls, the Board hereby orders that on the 25th., day of October, I927, this Board will meet at its office in the City Hall at I0:00 A. M. , to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose property has been assessed for said improvement and will decide whether the several lots and parcels of land primarily assessed for said improvements have heen or will be benefited in the amounts shorn on said rolls or in a greater or less amount. City Engineer, Mr. H. G. Wray, filed plans, specifications and estimates and the Board adopted the following improvement resolutions: Improvement Resolution No.I970 for the construction of grade and walk on the north side of Calvert Street from Kline 6treet to Caroline Street. Improvement Resolution No.I97I for the pavement of Chapin Street from Indiana Avenue to Calvert Street. Improvement Resolution No.I972 for the sewer on Lawton Street between Olive Street and Bendix Drive. In all of the above named improvement resolutions, the Board hereby orders that on the 9th., day of November, 1927, this Board will meet in their office at 7-I5 P. IT., to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose property is liable to be assessed for said improvements and will decide whether the several lots and parcels of land 111ble to be assessed for said improvements will be benefited in propertion to the estimated cost of said improvements as reported by the City Engineer. Board further orders that notices of said improvement hearings shall be published on the 2Ist. , day of October and on the 28th. , day of October, 1927, in the South Bend News Times and Tribune, and that notices be mailed to proper owners according to law. City Engineer, Mr. H. G. Wray, filed plansij specifications and estimates and the Board adopted a resolution for the pavement of the alley between lots IO 10 and II Mayer Add., from the south line of Lincoln Highway to north line of alley South under Improvement Resolution No.I969. T.' Tran.berg at his low bid., of $410.65. 0 1] P The Board approved the installation of a light at the corner of 1 Ernsperger Street and Bowman 6treet at a cost of `:*45.00 per year. Sai.e ordered. G. pray, filed primary assessment roll for the pavement on Lincoln Way West from the west line of Wilber Streeto to the west line of Olive Street under Improvement Resolution No.I8I5. In the above named assessment roll, the Board here by orders that on the 26th, day of October, 1927, this Board will meet in their office in the City Hall to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose property -has been assessed 1 for said improvement and will decide whether the several lots &ad parcels of land primarily assessed for said improvement have been or will be benefited in the amounts shown on said roll or in a--Areater-:orv2etseamount. The Board further orders that notices of said hearing of assessment roll shall be published in the South Bend News Times and Tribune on the 24th. , day of October and on the 25th. , day of October 19279 according to law. II I� In the matter of sewer improvement on College Street from Elwood Avenue to Keller Street under Improvement Resolution No.I954, the Board hereby orders that on the 8th.1 day of November, I927, this Board will receive, open and consider sealed j proposals up to I0:00 A. M.
