Board met in regular session at 7ilb P. M John Olejniczak

Due to the great numbers of people present, the Board adjourned';
I! to the Council Chambers, where the meeting was held.
This being the date set, hearing was had on the Assessment j
Roll for the Widening of .Kline Street from Ewing Avenue to the St. Joseph River under
Condemnation Resolution No.1856.
In the above named Assessment roll remonstrators appeared
and written remonstrances were filed as follows:

After hearing all persons interested in said assessment roll,
the Board decides to continue hearing on same until October 26th. , 1927, at 7-I5, at
which time final action will be taken on said assessment roll.
This being the date set, hearings were had on the following
Improvement Resolutions:
Improvement Resolution No.I942 for the pavement on Webster
Street from Indiana Avenue to Prairie Avenue.
Improvement Resolution No.I94I for the pavement on Scott Street)
from Indiana Avenue to Chicago, South Bend and Southern Railway Co.
In both of the above named improvement resolutions, no remon-
strators appeared and no written remonstrance was filed, and the Board being duly
advised in the premises, finds that the ibenefits to the several lots and parcels of
land, liable to be assessed for said improvements, will be equal to the estimated cost-1
of same as reported by the City Engineer. The Board, therefore, takes final action
on said improvement resolutions, and declares same in all things ratified, confirmed
and approved without modification.
This being the date set, hearing eras had on Improvement Resole
tion No.1940 for the pavement of 35th. , Street from Mishawaka Avenue to Northside
Boulevard.
In the above named improvement Resolution, remonstrators
appeared and a written remonstrance was filed. After hearing all persons interested
in said improvement and being fully advised in the premises, the Board finds that the
benefits to the several lots and parcels of land liable to be assessed for said impro-
vement will be equal to the estimated cost of same as reported by the City Engineer.
Therefore, the Board decides to over rule said remonstrance, and declares improvement
Resolution No.I940 in all things ratified, confirmed and approved without modification,
The Board now orders written remonstrance delivered to the City Engineer for final cheek.
This being the date set, hearings were had on the following
.Assessment rolls:
Assessment roll for the pavement of Carroll Street from
Dayton Street to Milton Street under Improvement Resolution No.I888.
Assessment roll for the pavement of Altgeld Street from the
Wiest line of High Street to Miami Street under Improvement Resolution No.1843.

In both of the above named assessment rollq, no remonstrances
were filed and no remonstrators appeared, and .the Board being.fully advised in the
premises, fines that the several lots and parcels of land primarily assessed for said
Improvements have been benefited in the amounts shown on said rolls, The Board, there-!
fore takes final action on said assessment rolls, declaring same in all things ratified
confirmed and approved and the proceedings closed. The Board now orders said assessment
rolls delivered to the Department of Finance. 1 •

Bids having been received for the construction of sewer on McKililey
Street from 22nd., Street to Greelawn Avenue under Improvement Resolution No.I9I9,
the Board this I2th. , day of October, I927, hereby awards the contract for said
improvement to John F. Hipskind at his low bid of $3,262.I0.
The Board approved the Guarantee Bond of the Williston Construction
Company for the LaSalle Avenue pavement under Improvement No.I8I2 in the amount of
2,2I5.91 signed by Inland Bonding Co.
This being the date set, hearing was had on Vacation Resolution No.
1957 for the vacation of the Ist., alley north of sunnymede Avenue from the east line
of the Ist., alley west of Harriett Street to the eat.line of Lot 224 in Sunnymede
Addition produced north.,
In the above named vacation r emluti on, no remonstrators appeared and
no written remonstrance was filed and the Board, being fully advised in the premises,
takes final action on said tapation. Ktsolution, and declares same in all things ratifi-
ed, confirmed and approved and the alley vacated, subject to an easement right of
Public Utilities.
The Board now orders that a list or roll be prepared of all owners and
holders of property and of valuable interests therein sought to be taken or to be
injuriously affected by said vacation, said roll shall also describe property beneficial
affected by said vacation. The Beard hereby appoints Edward Pfeiffer, David Gibson
and Ed Neddo as appraisors in this matter of benefits of damages.
City Engineer, Mr. H. G. Wray, filed primary assessment rolls for the
following improvements:
Assessment roll for the grade, curb and walk improvement on Woodside
Street from Twyckenham Drive to Ridge Road under Improvement Resolution No.I855.
Assessment roll for the pavement improvement on Twyckenham Drive;
Vioodside Street, Avondale Road, Ridgedale Road, Garland Road, Trelane Road and Ridge Roa,4
all in Twyckenham or Ridgedale I'htrdhAddition under Improvement Resolution No.I.870. 11
Assessment roll for the grade, curb and walk improvement on Ridgedale
Road, Avondale Broad, and Ridge Road in Ridgedale 4th., Addition under Improvement

In all of the above named improvement resolutions, the Board hereby orde
that on the I8th., day of October, I927, this Board will meet in their office at 10 A. N
to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose property has been assessed for
said improvements and will decide whether the lots and parcels of land primarily assesse
for said improvements have been or will be benefited in the amounts shown on said rolls
or in a greater or less amount.
City Engineer, 11r. H. G. Wray, filed plans, specifications and estimates
and the Board adopted a resolution for the pavement of the Ist., alley North of Marion
Street from Main Street to Ist., alley east of Main Street under Improvement Resolution
No.I958,.
In the above named improvement resolution, property owners waived all
objections on and in defense in said proceedings and to any violation in procedure for
the construction of street improvements as fixed by law. WWhereupon the Board received,
opened and read s eal ed proposals for the construction of said improvement as follows:

Both of the above bids delivered to the City Engineer for tabulation.
Bids having been received for the construction of pavement on the Ist.,
alley north of Marion Street from Fain Street to Ist., alley east of Main Street under
Improvement Resolution No.I958, the Board this I2th., day of October, 1927, hereby award
the contract for said improvement to the lowest bidder.
City Engineer, Mr. H. G. Wray, filed plans, specifications and estimates
and the Board adopted the following Improvement Resolutions:

Improvement Resolution No.I967 for the pavement of the first a
south of Riverside Drive from Forest Avenue to Park Avenue.
Improvement Resolution No.I968 for the pavement of the Ist., a
west of Park Avenue from Riverside Drive t,o first alley south.
In all. of the above named improvement resolutions, the Board
hereby orders that on the 9th., day of November, 1927, this Board will meet in their
office in the City Hall at 7-15 P. Y. , to hear and receive remonstrances from all
persons whose property is liable to be assessed for said improvements and will decide
whether the benefits to the property liable to be assessed fof@ said improvement will
be equal to the estimated of cost of same as reported by the City Engineer. The
Board further orders that notices of said hearings shall be published in the South Ben
News Times and Tribune on the 2lst. , day of October- and on the 28th. , day of October,
I927,,according to law and that notices be mailed to property owners according to law.
City Engineer, Mr. H. G. 01ray, submitted the following partial
estimates:
Partial estimate No. 3 for the Northxrest Trunk sewer, in accord-
ance with the terms of the contract between the City and J. J. Dunnegan Construction
Company under Improvement Resolution No.I774. Board signed and approved same in the
amount of 92,389.47.
Partial estimate No.I for the grade, curb and walk improvement
on Olive Street from Bergan Street to Wilson Street, in acc&rdance with the terms of
the contract between the City and E. T. Tranberg under Improvement Resolution No.I935.
Board signed and approved same in the amount of I.945.26.
Board approved the Flat of Roanoke Heights with t'h.e rollowing
Dedication.
'The attached plat of Roanoke Heights is a subdivision of the
I following described property, to -wit:
Beginning at a •stone in the center of Section 24, Township I
Thirty-eight (38) north range Two (2) East, thence West alo#g the east and west center'l
line of said section 24 a distance of Thirteen hundred thirty five and nine tenths
(1335,90) feet to the center of Dixie Highway, thence South along the center line of
Dixie Highmy a distance of eight hundred and forty six (846) feet, thence East parallel
with the east and west center line of said section 24 a distance of Thirteen hundred
thirty two and eighteen (I352I1$) feet to the North and South center line of said section
24, thence North along the North and South center line of said section 24 a distance
of Eight hundred and forty six (846) feet to the place of beginning. j
The Plat contains 76 lots numbered from I to 76 inclusive.
The size of the lots and the width of the Streets are marked on the Plat in feet and
fractions thereof.
The Streets are gereby dedicated to the Public for the use of
the Public as Public thoroughfares.
A strip of land seven (7) feet in width off of and from the
rear end of each lot is hereby reserved for an easement to be used by Public Utilities;
in the construction thereon pipe and pole lines and said strip of land is hereby dedi-
cated for that purpose.

assessed for said improvement and will decide whether the several lots and parcels of
land primary assessed for said improvement have been or will be benefited in the
amounts shown on said assessment roll or in a greater or less amount. The Bard

Times and Tribune an the I4tk., day of October and on the I5th., day of October, 1927,
according to law.

pavement of LaSalle Avenue from Main Street to point 17 feet west of the east line of
lot 4 in Miller Sub., under Improvement Resolution No.I8I2.
In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no writte-n
remonstrance was filed and the Board, being fully advised in the premises, finds that
the several1lots and parcels of land have been benefited in the amounts shown on said
modified roll. Therefore, the Board takes final action on said assessment rolls filed
October. 4th. , 1927, and deelares same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved.
