Wednesday, September 7th.,_1927.
Board met in regular session at 7*i5 P. M. All members present.
This being the date set, hearings were had on the following improvement
resolutions:
j Improvement resolution No. I929 for the pavement of the first alley north
of Sunnymede Avenue from alley east of Sunnyside to east line of Lot 227 Sunnymede
Addition.

Sunnyside and Harriett Street from first alley south of Wayne Street South, to Wayne
Street north.
Improvement resolution No.I932 for the local sewer on Orange Street between
Olive Street and Meade Street.
i In all of the above named improvement resolutions, no remonstrators appear-
ed and no written remonstrance was filed and the Board, being fully advised in the
j premises, finds that the benefits to the several lots and parcels of land liable to be
assessed for said improvements, will be equal to the estimated cost of same as reported
by the City Engineer and that the improvements are necessary. The Board, therefore,
takes final action on said improvement resolutions, and declares same in all things
ratified, confirmed and approved.
The Board now orders, in the matter of improvement resolutions No.I929,
1928 and 1932, that on the 20th., day of September, 1927 this Board will meet and will
receive, open and consider sealed proposals up to I0:00 �. M., for the construction of
said improvements. Board further orders that notices of said proposals shall be publish
ed on the 9th., day of September and on the I6th., day of September, 1927, in the
South Bend 7ews Times and Tribune.
This being the date set, hearings were had on the following assessment
rolls:
kssessment roll for the construction of grade, curb and walk on Wellington
Stf'eet from Division Street to Jefferson Boulevard under Improvement Resolution No.I827.
Assessments roll ,::for the construction of grade, curb and walk on Lake Street
from Division Street to Jefferson Blve., under Improvement Resolution No.I825.
Assessment roll for the construction of grade, curb and walk on Kentucky
Street from Jefferson Boulevard to Washington Avenue under Improvement Resolution No.1
Assessment roll for the construction of grade, curb and walk on Kentucky .
Street from Division Street to Jefferson Boulevard under Improvement Resolution No.I823.
Assessment roil for the construction of grade,curb and walk on 2lst., St.,
from South line of McKinley Avenue to North line of Christman Place Addition; Also on
west 2 of 21st.1 Street from north line of Christman Place Addition to center line of
Washing on Avenue under Improvement Resolution No.I804.
I# all of the above named assessment rolls, no remonstrators appeared and
j' no written remonstranee was filed, and the Board being fully advised in the premises,
i finds that the several lots and parcels of land nhich have been assessed for said
improvements have been benefited in the amounts shown on said rolls. The Boar
takes final action on said assessment rolls, filed August 24th., 1927, and declare
same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved and the proceedings closed. the
Board now orders that said assessment rolls be delivered to the Department of Finance.
!I City Engineer, y%!r. H. G. dray, submitted the following partial estimates:
Partial estimate No. 2 for the roadway widening, pavement and water connect
ion improvement on Lincoln 'today °lest from ''dilber Street to West line of Olive Street, in
accordance with the terms of the contract tretween the City and '+-lilli ston Construction
Co., under Improvement Resolution No.I8I5. Board signed same in the amount of

Partial estimate No.I for the set er improvement in Miner Street from Vilest
linr og North Sunnyside Addition to Harriett Street'in accordance with the terms of the
contract between the City and John F. Hipskind,T^ contractor under improvement resol-.tion
I-o.I927. Board signed and approved same in the amount of I,339.45.
The Board approved the driveway at I033 Hudson Street.
City Engineer, IV!r. H. G.'rdray, filed plans, specifications and estimate and
the Board adopted a resolution for the construction of grade, curb and walk on the
south 2 of Washington Avenue from 20th., Street to Greenlawn; Also, on I9th., Street
from.Jefferson Avenue to Washington Avenue; Also, on Nilson Street from 20th., Street
to Greenlawn Avenue under Improvement Resolution No.I93I.
In the above named improvement resolution, property owners signed a waiver
waiving all objections on arid- in defense to any defect* in.said proceedings and to any
violation in procedure for the construction of Street improvements according to law.
Whereupon, the Board received, opened and read proposals for the construction of said
improvement. Bids as follows:

Bids having been received for the construction of grade,curb and
walk on 1,7ashington Street, Nineteenth and Wilson Street under Improvement Resolution
No.I932, the Board this 7th., day of September, 1927, hereby awards the contract for
said improvement to Carl E. Zimmer at his low bid.
The Board signed the contract with the Albert Construction Co._,
for the pavement on Howard Street from South Bend Avenue to west line of 111orey's Sub. ,
under Improvement Resolution No.1889. Board also approved the construction bond of
same signed by Inland Bonding Co., for 6,474.40, which is 50% of the contract price
of same.
The Board signed the contract with Rieth Riley Construction Co.,
for the pavement on 26th., Street from Jefferson Blvd., to Mishawaka Avenue under
Improvement Resolution No.I866. Board also approved the construction bond of same
signed by Southern Surety Co., for I9,278.00, which is 50 S of the contract price of same.
